I finally got svn to work by proxying it through a server with actual internet access. I love how I have to make an end-run around the network guys so I can give them what they want. Hilarious.
Anyway I did the svn co http://..... Blah blah and it seemed to work properly.
Then I run discovery and get this. (poller does the same thing)
./discovery.php -h dc-m-sitelink
svn: '/opt/observium' is not a working copy
Observium v0.SVN.ERROR
Discovery
Do I need to wipe and reinstall? I'd prefer not to as I have ~50 hosts set up and everything is otherwise working well.

Renamed the /observium dir to observium_
Recreated the observium dir
Re-ran the svn checkout to the original directory
Copied the config.php, RRD dir, and the JPGRAPH dir back over.
Worked like a charm.

Still thousands cheaper than PRTG or Solarwinds.
It's something to think about for sure. As the package matures, it will be worth more to potential customers.
Now get to work on those features. ;)
