Folks,
The FreeBSD port has been updated to Observium CE 0.16.1.7533; along with a whole bunch of extra/updated dependencies.
This also makes the migration/activation to the professional version pretty much a ‘drop in’ now & makes the polling more efficient.
SNMP internal mode is expressly disabled (it seems to suffer from the same issue as on fedora - some substitution issue).
Thanks,
Dw.
SNMP internal mode?

In around 2012 a setting:
$config['snmp']['internal’] = false
was needed to pass various regression tests because of something in snmp_get_multi(). AFAIK that code is no longer in observium itself; but was cut-and-pasted in discovery add-ons that have observium as a dependency.
If it is fundamentally and ‘forever’ gone - then I could go and check/retire anything that still uses it; and update the portfile.

Yes. PHP internal SNMP functions was a very short lived experiment (for literally a few weeks) that we tried.
It doesn't work, most of the code was removed. There's actually a note at the top of snmp.inc.php about it :D
There should be no need to have that line in the config unless someone has modified defaults to enable it.
Either way, this is the first time I've heard that setting mentioned in many years :D
Adam.
