Hi All
Is there a way of removing a subset of device names from the alert checker configs, i.e.
!somename.* *
or NOT EQUAL somename.* *
or similar so if there are devices that I want to graph, but dont care if they are up or down.
Which brings me to another point I guess, is there a way of not showing certain things on the dashboard or diminishing the value / time of a notified device,
I dont need to know about a rebooted device for 24 hours,
also is there are 2 or 3 errors on an interface I may not need to know about them, and as per above I may only want to graph traffic on a device if it is up, and dont need to know if it isnt up
You can set these devices as 'ignored' in their own settings tab, which will prevent generation of all alert table entries for them.
Adam.

Thanks Adam
Would that have to be done on a per device basis or could I ignore all devices starting with or containing a particular value, would be a bit of a pain to manually ignore 200 + devices

You could use a couple of different strategies. You could get them all into a group, somehow, and then exclude the group from any alerts you don't want them to be included in.
Or you could use lists/patterns I. The device association rule.
It's pretty flexible, but not always entirely straight forward.
Group exclusion is not documented properly yet. I can sort that out if you want to try that method.

Also, the device associations are evaluated as 'and', so you can provide a negative list like:
hostname match * hostname ne derp.derp.com hostname ne herp.derp.com
Or even regexp, excluding using a pattern:
hostname !regex /(derp|herp)/
Please note that Adam is regular expression challenged, so the example above may totally not work! :)
