What is the proper configuration for having Observium and RANCID on separate boxes, and still have versioning with RANCID? Currently we just mount a share from our RANCID box to Observium, this give the current configs, but not the versioning.

We are just setting this up now. It looks like if you use git or svn over http then you can sync the configs onto your observium system and get both configs and revisions.

Let me know how that turns out; "svn log" requires username and password afaics so you'd have to store them in the home directory for the www-data user (which may or may not be a problem).
