OK I'll admit I was goofing around, in config.php I changed the geocoding API setting from google to mapquest for like ten seconds.
Most of my sites are now clumped in the island off Portugal now. I've tried editing the sysLocations and rediscovering/polling to no avail.
Halp!
Now what?

Anyone? I've re-entered all the locations, saved, re discovered and polled and they're all messed up still.
Should I remove all the lat/lon info directly rfom the database table?

Set your configs.php file back to Google. I personally think it works better.
Have you set sysLocations on your devices? Or, have you been using the sysLocation in Observium? You should do the sysLocations per device.

I did set it back to google.
Syslocations are overridden in observium. network guys can't be assed to actually configure their devices.

What do you mean?
Start > Services > SNMP Service > Properties > Change SysLocation
Cd /etc/snmp/snmp.d/snmp.conf (or something like that) add your community from vi and ESC "wq" Enter
VMWare is via SSH in 5.1
That's your issue. You have to set it on the device itself.

Scott, what are the snmp locations set to in your devices? The path that worked the best for us was to put in a clli code or the the like in the device and setup the clli code in the config file to point to the actual address. I'd step back, remove any sysoverides for location, verify the location on the device, then set the location code to the address in the config file. We started out playing around putting the addresses in the snmp location in the actual devices, but it looked odd in the device and sometimes the strings were read different by Observium for different devices. So we standardized our devices and changed the config. Works good for us know.

Modify the database and set the lat/lon to NULL for all devices and they'll be re-set when they're re-polled, it's the quickest way.
We should include something in the UI to do this (and do a real-time lookup, perhaps).

A method of forcing/triggering ./discovery and ./poller from the GUI would be cool.
