Yeah. You can set the values as they'd be set in includes/definitions/os.inc.php. Don't change anything inside includes/definitions/, always copy things to config.php.

With regards to the OS specific 'max-rep', should this be something that's configurable from within config.php?

It has to be enabled in the config.php globally, and then the individual OS options will work.
I forget the option, but you can probably find it easily enough by grepping defaults :D

What's the actual usage of the knob, I assumed it was setting the -Cr option used in bulkwalk, but I may have misunderstood if it's just an on/off switch?

Well, enabling it is fine unless it's not fine, and you'll discover if it's not fine fairly quickly.
If your environment is mostly Cisco, you'll be fine. This is definitely something you want to ask them to fix too, though :D

Unpredictable changing it at all, or just increasing the value?
Guess I'm asking if I'm better off trying to talk to Cisco in the first instance about why this stopped working, rather than fiddling with this setting?

Hi Tim,
Its disabled as default since it can have unpredictable results on many devices.

Hi Chaps,
I'm trying to use $config['snmp']['max-rep] = 9 to work around an issue with a device that won't return everything from ifAlias when using the default (10), however checking the discovery debug it doesn't actually seem to actually be setting the -Cr option in snmpbulkwalk? Am I missing something else to make this work, or is it actually just not working due to its 'experimental' state in the documentation?
