Yes this is what I do now but it's not easier. What would be easy is a button in the GUI

Command line is your friend. mysql observium -NBe "SELECT * FROM devices" > /tmp/devices.tab IF you only want certain columns you can specify each one you want instead of * -N NO column headings, so if you want headings don't put that. -B Batch Mode, causes it to output in a TAB delimited which will load into Excel nicely -e is the command You may also need. -uusername -ppassword There is also an API for accessing data externally e.g. https://docs.observium.org/api/#fetching-devices

The way I envision it, any screen with a list of data, there would be an export button that would give you that same data in csv format….i think that would be helpful.

You think you want this feature, but you probably don't. it'd be a worthless SQL table dump inside a PDF that would enver copy/paste right because PDF is a fundamentally broken format.
XLS would be marginally better, but what's the point? just use a generic sql export tool to get a CSV.
If we built this it would be a gargantuan amount of code to support all of the various tables and views, 3 people would use it per year, and it'd rot to death before anyone reported any bugs.
I see these sorts of features as the ones that makes software look broken, because they rarely work how people expect them to, and are used so little that no one reports bugs with them.

I would love to upvote this feature, I would like to see this as well. Tony ------------------- It might be easier for you to do this via SQL, something like dbeaver will give you the results from an arbitrary query. I’ll see about adding export,

I’ll see about adding export, but we don’t usually do it because it can get quite messy to handle across different tables and views.
