The only thing I can suggest is to use the test_alert.php script and see if it outputs anything interesting.
I'm surprised it's working at all on 16.04 though :D
It could be down to having to use php's fetch, since that's red. But you'll likely get some more useful indication from the test_alert script.

In my opinion, this works perfectly. And as I said: all other alert checkers work without any problems. It only affects this status check in combination with this device. I've really tried a lot of things - otherwise I wouldn't have registered here.
