We have confirmed Chrome and Firefox with wide screen monitors.

Hi,
This is as designed. The left hand panel is for extra information.
Its currently only really used on the device page, but the intention is for it to display either extra information, or for some information to move to it.
For example on the devices and ports list pages the search forms will move to the left along, perhaps with some new pie charts, leaving more vertical space for the list itself.
Adam.

The other pages are just missing the side panel.
There is a default side panel, but I must have forgotten to commit it. It only shows the two tables from the top if the front page at the moment, but frees up a fair bit if space.
