Hello,
I have a couple of problems with observium which really hinder me trusting it's alerting feature etc.
1 - Some servers show as down, when in fact they aren't down and snmp is started (i've also tried to restart)
2 - Some server show as up and while I have an alert for storage to send warning only when its below 5% full it will send an alert saying C drive space is at 0% but in fact the servers have more than 10% left.
Can these issue's be related to iop's or the polling time? I'd like to figure this out because the SNMP servers are windows servers and everytime one of them is down, I can't afford to troubleshoot by removing snmp and reinstalling it because windows requires a reboot, which I just can't do on domain controllers, file servers etc.
Is it possible to put the login portal to observium on a seperate webpage completely so that customers can log into it from our site for example/

You should never have to do this. Are you in the PAID version? Are you updated?

1 - DNS works fine and I can ping the servers that show down by both name and ip. It just shows down and if I do .poller.php -h host name it doesn't poll the device. (Initially some of the servers showed as up but after a couple of days they show as down now)
2- I will show the alert I'm using when I'm back at a pc. What I meant about restarting the server every time I had to remove the snmp was on windows. Every time you remove the snmp feature on windows and try to install it again it requires a server reboot.

Snmp crashing on your server really can't be fixed by us, neither can windows reporting incorrect drive sizes.
Make sure you are running the latest version and provide screenshots with problem reports, else people will either not understand the problem or not believe you.

FYI, I only had this issue 1000 updates ago on the free version. Literally a year ago. All I did was buy and update and no issues. I did re-install. It turned out I did more SNMP stuff on the Ubuntu server than anticipated and that conflicted with the polling of Observium. I haven't run into this issue again and I mess with my monitoring box and its SNMP all the time.

Snmp crashing on your server really can't be fixed by us, neither can windows reporting incorrect drive sizes.
Make sure you are running the latest version and provide screenshots with problem reports, else people will either not understand the problem or not believe you.

Check your DNS and verify its right. Especially for your servers. Do they always stay offline? What specifically goes down? IMCP PING, SNMP?

This would be 2 alerts. One checks to see if the server is online (PING, SNMP, etc.) and the other checks your HDD. Mind sharing what you are using for that alert?

Tom - I made the change to reflect bytes. I think the documentation should point that out as it doesn't and that's why i put in 5.
Josh - I put in * on the entity match now.
However I still have problems with multiple server showing 0% on drive space. Attached you will see what I'm talking about. Adam said that snmp is not working on the windows server however if it wasn't then it wouldn't be picking up the memory and other activities on the server. Also this is happening on multiple servers.
Today when I logged into observium I also noticed a couple of devices (windows server) showing as down and some of them showing as not being polled for a while now... why does this happen? screenshot attached.

"Windows SNMP is a bag of shite" answers all of your questions pretty accurately.
We didn't write Windows. We didn't write Windows' SNMP daemon. We can't do shit about it.
Like, it literally has nothing at all to do with us. We draw a pretty picture from the numbers your device manufacturers give us via SNMP. If they give us fucked up numbers or frequently manage to break their SNMP daemon, we'll give you fucked up graphs or no graphs at all.
There isn't really any good solution for SNMP on Windows. Microsoft's SNMP daemon is shit and net-snmp on Windows isn't much better.

While I don't disagree with you that maybe windows SNMP is a piece of shit and that there's nothing you guys can do about it, is there any roadmap to maybe do an observium agent? Or is there such a thing? This would bypass the windows SNMP bag of shit, as you call it. But truth is windows dominates the enterprise and therefore I would see a lot of people having this issue.
Maybe I'm trying to use it for something which you guys didn't mean it to work for and only really care about Linux. I just think observium is a great tool and it would be nice if it worked correctly with windows.

Like, it literally has nothing at all to do with us. We draw a pretty picture from the numbers your device manufacturers give us via SNMP. If they give us fucked up numbers or frequently manage to break their SNMP daemon, we'll give you fucked up graphs or no graphs at all.
There isn't really any good solution for SNMP on Windows. Microsoft's SNMP daemon is shit and net-snmp on Windows isn't much better.

However I still have problems with multiple server showing 0% on drive space. Attached you will see what I'm talking about. Adam said that snmp is not working on the windows server however if it wasn't then it wouldn't be picking up the memory and other activities on the server. Also this is happening on multiple servers.
Today when I logged into observium I also noticed a couple of devices (windows server) showing as down and some of them showing as not being polled for a while now... why does this happen? screenshot attached.

Snmp crashing on your server really can't be fixed by us, neither can windows reporting incorrect drive sizes.
Make sure you are running the latest version and provide screenshots with problem reports, else people will either not understand the problem or not believe you.

Check your DNS and verify its right. Especially for your servers. Do they always stay offline? What specifically goes down? IMCP PING, SNMP?

This would be 2 alerts. One checks to see if the server is online (PING, SNMP, etc.) and the other checks your HDD.

Poll is every 5 minutes. I have no IOP issues.

SNMP will never(*) be optional. SNMP storage works fine on Windows for me though - as long as you're not using WMI, because that's broken.
