UNIX-Agent on remote client
Hi All
I have a server that is running Observium with Unix Agent and everything is ok. Recently I installed a second remote server and is a SNMP client on my observium. Because this server is running Power DNS I would enable the UNIX-AGENT om this client and see the graphs for pdns on my Observium.
Can anyone assist me on this?
Thank You very much
Federico
Hi Frederico,
You install the agent in the same way, it's not difficult!
What exactly isn't working?

Hi Adam,
My bad, I have missed one step during the set-up. I can see the UNIX-client in my remote serer. However, I have another question/problem:
I added the snmp client to my snmp remote and it is fine. Then I set-up observium in the client and I try to pull the data from itself (Basically the same device is polled from a remote server and from itself) I can add the device (on the local observium) but I cannot pool any data (see screenshot). Below you can find the config for snmpd

# AGENT BEHAVIOUR

# Listen for connections from the local system only
#agentAddress udp:127.0.0.1:161
# Listen for connections on all interfaces (both IPv4 *and* IPv6)
agentAddress udp:161,udp6:[::1]:161 # ACCESS CONTROL #
# system + hrSystem groups only view systemonly included .1.3.6.1.2.1.1 view systemonly included .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1
# Full access from the local host rocommunity public localhost # Default access to basic system info #rocommunity public default -V systemonly # rocommunity6 is for IPv6 #rocommunity6 public default -V systemonly
# Full access from an example network # Adjust this network address to match your local # settings, change the community string, # and check the 'agentAddress' setting above rocommunity secret 87.81.223.210
# Full read-only access for SNMPv3 rouser authOnlyUser

It looks like the cron jobs aren't actually running.

Also, you're using a restrictive SNMP config which won't work even if the cron jobs are running.
