HI,

I know this is all work in progress but I'm trying something very simple which should at least trigger

It's likely something simple that I've missed

Now the alerts are working, should emails be sent ?

Here is my config

// Enable alerter $config['poller-wrapper']['alerter'] = TRUE;

// Set up a default alerter (email to a single address) $config['alerts']['alerter']['default']['descr'] = "Default Email Alert"; $config['alerts']['alerter']['default']['type'] = "email"; $config['alerts']['alerter']['default']['contact'] = " daniel.rolfe.au@gmail.com"; $config['alerts']['alerter']['default']['enable'] = TRUE;

I've only tested sending emails from the cli with the mail command, which are being received by gmail

I really want to move away from cacti thold plugin :-)

I really wish we had better documentation on the newer dev alerting system. Would help if you guys wanted info on what was or wasn't working correctly.

Agreed, I'm new to Observium and can't figure out the differences between old and new alerting config either.

I'll likely try changing my setting to smtp from the default php mail and see what happens.
