Ahh. The MIB database is just a repository every MIB we've encountered. It'd take a century to support all of them! :)

I'm not sure what squid's SNMP is like, but I'm guessing it's not providing enough data to be added (no sysobjectid, etc). You can probably just get the host's net-snmp to pass through the squid data as a proxy, and then use the custom oid feature to add graphing for the specific things you want. Otherwise someone would need to write some code to collect the data from squid. Looking at their MIB it would be quite simple to collect all of the non-table OIDs and draw graphs from them, the "table" based things are a bit harder. That seems to just be the client and peers tables though. I think you should be able to get net-snmp to proxy to squid with something like : proxy -v 2c -c <community> localhost:3401 .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495 You can test being able to walk their tree with net-snmp and test how reliable the collection is with the custom oid feature. Squid offers snmp on port 3401 udp when configured. So Observium can talk to squid on that port with snmp V1. In the Observium MIB-Database all Squid-MIBS are listed.

How exactly are you trying to make Observium talk to squid? Observium won't talk to squid itself. Observium is just an SNMP monitoring platform that speaks SNMP.

As far as I'm aware no one has written an app plugin to collect data from squid, either. :(

I want to monitor my squid instances on snmp port 3401 udp with observium. But when I try to add the device (here squid on port 3401 udp) I don’t get an answer. With cacti everything works well, an even with snmpwalk and snmp v1 I get an answer.
