Hi Guys,
June Changelog!
http://www.observium.org/wiki/Changelog#June_2014
Mike was away last month, and it shows. No Rusglish! :D
Thanks, adam.
Are there any plans to add support for NetApp Clustered OnTap? Only 7 mode is currently supported if I recall correctly.

NetApp essentially has a completely different OS that more and more customers are using that supports clustering. Right now Observium can only talk to the “legacy” NetApp OS. The new ones just show up as unknown devices.

Well, there is something broken on your system that no one else seems to have encountered.
You probably want to make sure you have no issues before you start blaming other people, because we're not going to do anything to help you since your first instinct was to come here and blame us.

Centos rocks socks as a webserver (cPanel). I had nothing but issues with Observium.
Doesn't the Observium website recommend Ubuntu? It doesn't make sense to me to install your Observium on something that causes you more work.
The only issue I have with Ubuntu ..... is nothing.

Yes, but everyone thinks they know better. Also CentOS is webscale, or something.

We develop on Ubuntu and Debian.
The issue with centos isn't that it's centos, it's that by installing it, you're transporting your server 5 years into the past.
We rely on features from newer versions of PHP and rrdtool than typically provided by RHEL-derrived distros.

Hi all,
I would also be interested in seeing whether Observium can show us the Netapp that we have, currently it shows a question mark as an icon and no graphs Device information: NetApp Release 8.2P6D8 Cluster-Mode
Thank you!

NetApp essentially has a completely different OS that more and more customers are using that supports clustering. Right now Observium can only talk to the “legacy” NetApp OS. The new ones just show up as unknown devices.

The issue is Observium only supports 7-mode, not Cluster-Mode as mentioned below.
Looks like Cristian is running Cluster-Mode.
Cluster-Mode essentially lets you define "storage virtual machines" so there is one more layer to look at when querying for information.
Probably isn't that hard to fix but I'm not a developer. ________________________________________ From: observium [observium-bounces@observium.org] on behalf of Adam Armstrong [adama@memetic.org] Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2014 6:44 PM To: Observium Network Observation System Subject: Re: [Observium] June Changelog

If they've decided to use different MIBs for that, it's probably a metric assload harder to fix than you think.
If they haven't, it's just a matter of a single line, probably.
