Environmental monitoring on an APC Smart-UPS
I have an APC Smart-UPS 1500 with a network management card that includes environmental monitoring. When Observium discovers the device the battery temperature is displayed, but not the temperature from the probe connected to the management card. Does Observium have the ability to show the temperature from the probe on the management card?

Yes it does. On your device page on the right side under "Temperature", you'll have the expected "Battery" entry which represents the obvious, and then you'll have a second entry which represents the temperature probe.
On an AP9619, that entry will be listed as "Integrated".
On an AP9631, that entry will be listed as "Port 1 Temp 1".
At least that's what I'm seeing on my 15 APC UPS units. :D

Indeed, afaik we support all UPS temperature probes (they have a few different types using separate trees in the MIB).
The description you see is actually dependent on how you configured it on the controller card ;) - at least on the AP9631, never saw a AP9619 so not sure you can give it a description there.

We have a AP9631 and under Temperature in the Overview of the device and under the Health section the only temperature that is displayed is Battery. Is there a configuration setting required to enable detection of the module in Observium? I see the module listed as Port 1 Temp 1 in the UPS management interface.

I upgraded the firmware already, but that didn't fix the issue. After running discovery.php to collect the debug information the temperature sensor started showing up in Observium. We are running a discovery of new devices from cron every 5 minutes so I'm not sure why running the discovery script manually fixed the issue, but I'll take it.
