Re: [Observium] Alerts setup in Web Gui
Hello there:
We recently installed Observium, and cannot locate 'Alerts' w/in the web gui. Do we have to install something additional, or are we missing something?
Thank you.
-Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I assume you installed the community edition? The alerts system is not in the CE yet, it will be on its next release - until then it's only in the subscription version.

Okay, that makes sense.
Do you happen to know approximately when the next release will be available?
Thank you.

The *Open Source/Community* edition will continue to be licensed under our existing Open Source license. It will be released every 6 months as a snapshot of the SVN repository in .tar.gz format. The Open Source edition will retain all of the commonly used features which have made Observium so popular, including the basic alerting system funded through Kickstarter.
Latest (and first) CE release was in october 2013. :-)

I think the next community release will be whenever the alerting system is in a state whereby we don't get 1,000 bug reports/day about the same bug which was fixed 3 days later in the non-community version.

That'll always stay a problem with the CE of course... for any feature.

What about integration w/ Syslog, is that supported in the Community Edition?
Thank you.
