I'm using AKCP SensorProbe and it is indeed fully supported. Also using Papouch TME/TH2E sensors, but when going with new deployments I'd go with something more centralized. If you have APC PDUs in the racks you could also connect UIO sensors to those without needing new managed devices.

I use the APC temp/humidity sensors that are connected to our APC UPS's. They work great.

as I remember in HWg-STE not simple to detect thresholds (or it complete not exist in snmp data).. show debug output, I will see if something possible to fix:
