I love when I have an problem and someone already resolved it, but it was left out of documentation. Rancid SVN diffs not showing

I set Rancid up with SVN instead, but when I make a change and re-run "rancid-run" there is still only the "Latest" tab in observium. I know that observium only goes into the directory and retrieves the configurations and displays it, but how do I display the older version? Rancid configs need to have identical names to the host devices in observium.... If I point observium to search for configs in "$config['rancid_configs'][] = '/usr/local/rancid/var/networking/configs';" how does it know which is old and new? Or is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance for any help! Much appreciated!

apc powernet-mib

Observium Gone Crazy, bro?

Hi All, I have an unusual issue in that after the last two updates (not that it was as a result), that Observium slams me with some 3000 "up/down" messages of all the devices in my network. The emails all come in a flood over a couple of minutes. Is there any reason that this should occur within Observium? Thanks, Ry

observium does not work with recent versions of MySQL

Hey everybody, I don't know whether this already came up, but with recent versions of mysql (like in the latest openSUSE) many features (VLANs, Ports, Routing, Events) of observium are no longer accessible. This is because of a new default "sql_mode = strict_trans_tables" which don't longer allow constructs like INSERT INTO `ports-state` (`port_id`) VALUES ('4713') in tables without default values for the other columns. The solution was a sql-mode="" in my.cnf. I suppose this will sooner or later also hit Debian/ Ubuntu. Perhaps you might fix this in one of the following versions? Otherwise observium over fulfilled all my needs and wishes. mikrotik ip add/remove not working

Hi people, we have a mikrotik unit that we monitor and we have a PPPOE interface on it, that we monitor the PPPOE interface sadly drops every so often and the IP on it changes … ( I know dynamic ip for pppoe is bad, we are in process of sorting out a static ip ) but for some reason the observium, doesn’t notice the interface ip was removed then readded or even changed !? it notices that the interface is offline and alerts me… but not the IP change or re-add can someone look into this, or tell me where i could begin looking to find the problem regards Simon
