ping probe not running

Mass SNMP Edit

Hi, I have migrated my devices from SNMp v1/2c to SNMP v3. As we have quote a number of devices, is there a script or anyway to mass edit the SNMP settings to v3 for these specific devices? We have put in config.php for v3 autodiscovery, but it isn't working. Warmest Regards, Nirmolak Singh

Adding more Nagions plugins

I went ahead and added another plugin to the /usr/lib/nagios/plugins directory where all the other working plugins are. When I go to add a probe it doesn't show up in the drop down box. Is there something that has to be ran to look for new plugins? Permissions/use/group are the same as the other plugins that work. Thanks

Oxidized Integration?

Hi, I am currently testing a replacement for rancid. Rancid has worked for a long time, but adding new device classes feels more and more unwieldy. Oxidized [1] makes a good first impression and I was able to add new device classes without big problems. Then of course I would also like to see an integration with my favorite network management tool :-) There are people who have already worked on this: https://github.com/colin-stubbs/observium-oxidized It looks like this patch doesn't quite work for current observium versions, so I'd like to ask if anyone is working on it and what are the chances that there could be an Observium integration (professional edition)? dark ui image legend legibility

Howdy, all! is there some voodoo necessary to coerce observium to generate graphs with textual legends that aren't black when dark mode is active? it's kinda hard to view black text on dark blue backgrounds :) I don't see an obvious knob for this, but it's entirely possible I'm just missing the "legend text color" or "make graph text legible in dark mode" or "learn to read" button somewhere :) [= The contents of this message have been written, read, processed, erased, sorted, sniffed, compressed, rewritten, misspelled, overcompensated, lost, found, and most importantly delivered entirely with recycled electrons =]

Syslog repetitive alerts

Is it possible to suppress repetitive syslog alerts? if yes how can I do this? The issue is I have a particular site which has an issue with one of the internet connections, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every 2 minutes. A syslog event is logged each time and I am getting an email alert for each log.

Upgrading O/S of Observium Server - Debian 10 to 11 (or 12)

Advice please ! 😊 I have a server which has been running Observium well for some time. Although upgrading the Observium build is easy enough following the instructions at Updating - Observium<https://docs.observium.org/updating/#upgrading-the-subscription-edition-to-…> this obviously does not update the O/S itself. I had a try at upgrading following online instructions yesterday but after he upgrade was complete the Observium web interface would not display – I just got a page of text which I assumed to be PHP script being displayed rather than “running”. Does anyone have any idiot proof (ie aimed at Linux novice) guidance to upgrade the OS without breaking Observium ? Luckily I had taken a snapshot of the VM so could roll back without any drama. sysLocation gets rewritten

Hello, I am experiencing something I don't understand. During polling of a host the syslocation -which is returned correctly by snmp- gets changed into another location (which is an old location before moving from "Address B" to "Address A"). $ /usr/bin/snmpget -v3 -l 'authPriv' -n '' -x 'AES' -X 'passwd' -a 'SHA' -A 'passwd' -u 'username' -Pud -Ih -OQUs --hexOutputLength=0 -m SNMPv2-MIB -M /opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp 'udp':'HostName':'161' sysUpTime.0 sysLocation.0 sysUpTime.0 = 0:8:31:49.72 sysLocation.0 = "Address A" This is the correct address returned. A few lines lower in my debugging output I see: sysLocation rewritten from 'Address A' to 'Address B' by DB override. Even if I change the address in mysql to the correct address the polling process keeps changing it to the old address. MariaDB [observium]> select hostname, location from devices where device_id=9811; +-------------------------+--------------+ | hostname | location | +-------------------------+--------------+ | HostName | Address B | +-------------------------+--------------+ My questions: - Why is this happening? - How can I prevent this from happening? - Where does the old address come from?
