Cant get cron job to run

Hi all, I have taken over an Observium install and am trying to get it back up and running since most of the new devices are not in it. Every device I add I have to manually run the discovery and poller. I have checked the txt file in /etc/cron.d/observium and it reads: # Run a complete discovery of all devices once every 6 hours 33 */6 * * * root /opt/observium/observium-wrapper discovery >> /dev/null 2>&1 # Run automated discovery of newly added devices every 5 minutes */5 * * * * root /opt/observium/observium-wrapper discovery --host new >> /dev/null 2>&1 # Run multithreaded poller wrapper every 5 minutes */5 * * * * root /opt/observium/observium-wrapper poller-wrapper.py 10 >> /dev/null 2>&1 # Run housekeeping script daily for syslog, eventlog and alert log 13 5 * * * root /opt/observium/housekeeping.php -ysel >> /dev/null 2>&1 # Run housekeeping script daily for rrds, ports, orphaned entries in the database and performance data 47 4 * * * root /opt/observium/housekeeping.php -yrptb >> /dev/null 2>&1 Is it just a matter of creating this text file in this folder and it automatically runs or am I missing a step to get it to run every 5 mins etc. Thanks!

hi, I guess i am behind the times but i just realized that the big 3 cell carriers in the US are (or have already) shutdown their email to txt gateways. we rely on this quite a bit. I know we could just send emails but our techs like a txt when things are really bad. i was wondering what else others are using and what my options might be. thanks in advance.

It depends upon specific support being added for the platform usually, because no vendor has been able to decide on a standards-based way of doing anything new since 2001. Thanks, adam. I recently updated to Observium CE 26.1.14545. Since the update, I am no longer receiving email alerts. I selected an alert from the dashboard (4354) and ran ./test_alert.php -a 4354.
