All I am having two issues with syslog, and wonder if someone could give me some guidance. Firstly, syslog filters seems a little inconsistent, for example:- This works - $config['syslog']['filter'][] = 'Cannot statfs /run/user/1000/gvfs'; This doesn’t - $config['syslog']['filter'][] = 'PERMISSION'; Unfortunately, the custom filters I need don’t work, any thoughts? And secondly, Observium appears to randomly stop reporting syslog records from clients. I have followed some of the suggestions from the mail list and determined that the missing records do appear in the debug.log but not in the console, and I am at a loss where else to look. I am using Syslog-NG, which to the best of my knowledge is correctly configured, and Observium CE 0.15.6430. Thanks in advance Kind regards Sandy Millar

Groups based on VLANs

Hi, I want to track a patricidal VLAN and their ports on a bunch of switches, tough that the Group function in Observium could do that for me :) However I can't find any reference to VLAN, tried to use "ifVlan" but not sure that works, or I didn't do that part correctly. The purpose is to track an internet facing vlan to easy see port graphs and to be able to create alerts from these. //Anders

Reset Login Password

Hello All, Can someone point me in the right direction, on how to reset the login passwords for Observium. For some reason I can't login this morning and the password I thought I was using just does not work so I need to reset via MySQL I assume. Thanks in advance for helping. Stephen

How to use Simple Observium API

I would like to use the Simple API to pull out a simple list of all host names matching a particular naming convention. Does anyone know of any examples or documentation I can refer to to create a small script to do something like this? Mike

This one is indeed harmless. It's a duplicate to try and fix an update that failed for some people I believe. Alert Emails Not sending

Guys, Only new to Observium and it's a great product! Setting up the email alerts and testing from the cli works perfectly however automated alerts configured via the interface do not send. The alerts trigger in the interface and the contact groups are configured.
