VMware ESX 5.1.0 and observium

Hello, On another configuration I had on vmware esx polling shown all vm currently installed. Seems on my ESX 5.1.0 (with vmware essential license) the vm hosted by the server are not shown. Any ideas ? Regards, Xavier

VPS root devices in snmpd.conf

Hi Guys, me again I've googled for this but not found anything much, and I know it's not entirely observium-related but is there any way of specifying a different root device in snmpd.conf? I have a few VPS hosted systems and the root devices are different, some are /dev/simfs, others are /dev/xvda1 etc. Obviously this just produces a broken graph in observium so I'm wondering if there is a way of setting it and then having it picked up. Many thanks for any pointers. Shaun

Oh. You were being confusing by talking about 'root device'. You mean the SNMP agent isn't reporting any file systems? Probably some permissions bullshit related to the virtualization platform. You don't need to mess with the netsnmp config at all really. Adam. Why is it wrong? That is the question. Observium gets its data from your snmp agent, I have not had it fail even in linux-vserver jails. RRD also stores deltas, but more importantly, RRD is way slower than MySQL for such single values.
