Alert checker for device down

Hi, Is there a way for using the new alerting system to send an e-mail when a device goes down? I see in the wiki that there is a "device_status" metric, but I can't figure out how to use it. There is no "Device" entity type when I try to make a new alert checker. Is this feature still in development? Erik

Error Drawing Graph During Rollover For Port Errors

Hi, I get a "Error Drawing Graph" for Port Error graphs when rolling over or going into the graph. I see a error looking at the rrdtool information. "RRDTool Output: ERROR: Not a valid vname: totinB0 in line GPRINT:totinB0:%6.2lf%sB ". I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me fix this or provide some information. Strange temperature and voltage readings

Hi Guys, First time posting - Be gentle ;) I've recently implemented Observium for our department and am absolutely loving it. However after an update this morning I have noticed that some devices are reporting weird readings for their sensors. Temperature and voltage specifically are reporting absurd variables (2209 degrees CPU temp / 1.45KV on a 1.2V rail). http://i.imgur.com/MG5NBA8.png - Random sample of temperature http://i.imgur.com/u8Emr3J.png - Random sample of voltage This issue seems to affect CISCO hardware but does not seem to be specific to a particular model or software revision and has only occurred since the DB Schema was updated this morning. Is anyone else seeing similar results with version 5405? Snmptrap Integration?

Hey all, Is there any way for observium to display snmptraps, specifically from dell dracs ? I see on the wiki that snmptt integration is possible but experimental. I have configured a test drac, snmptrapd, and snmptt. I can see in /var/log/messages that the test message from the drac is reaching the server, but I don't see it showing up in observium. Am I overlooking something fundamental ? Is this even possible ? Thanks, R.Prihoda

BGP update count missing

After updating from 5391 to 5399, BGP prefix update counts are not showing in the graphs, or in the up and down arrow counts next to each session. The total prefix counts are graphing correctly. All BGP sessions are missing the update counts. Matt UniVoIP [observium_bgp_5399.PNG]

2 things with alerting

Hi, We have 2 strange things with the alerting system since a few days. - 1. The frontpage displays ports up/down, even when the alerting for that port is disabled in the device settings. Is this normal? Because this wasn't till a few days ago. [cid:image001.png@01CF5ED2.3C5BB560] [cid:image002.png@01CF5ED2.3C5BB560] - 2. Some alert checks worked fine for months, but now they fail. (I only have the database output, because the http://observium/alert_checks/ links returns a blank page, maybe because the result is too big?): [cid:image003.png@01CF5ED2.7A406F60] I attached the debug poll of one of the devices. The polling debug output returns: Checking alert 4 associated by 4 replaced @sensor_limit with 5.92 from entity. Testing: sensor_value greater 5.92 (value: 5.187) FAIL replaced @sensor_limit_low with 4.37 from entity. Testing: sensor_value less 4.37 (value: 5.187) OK Checks failed. Generate alert. What I expect (and what it did for the last months) this alert rule to do, is to fail when the sensor value is not between the threshold ranges. It looks like it is only for the voltage and current sensors. [cid:image004.png@01CF5ED4.23531980] When I check the settings and alerting thresholds, they look fine to me.
