Device showing interface error cleared long ago

Hi, I have a device which is always showing an interface error which was previous to the Observium installation. I cleared the error on the switch and it did not reproduce. However Observium is showing it every day I check. I've tried to delete the device and adding it back and it show the error again. After upgrading to the latests CE it is the same. Maybe this has persisted in the DB, I don't know... Does anyone has any hint for this behaviour? Thanks in advance and best regards, Pau

DOM optic sensor graphs always rounded to 0W

Hi, Currently running: 0.16.1.7533 (26th January 2016) We’ve noticed the DOM optic power sensor data to be graphed at 0W all the time. Noticing the ‘value’ figure is correct on the optic’s power status page, we subsequently found all data in the RRD to be correct. eg:  <row><v>6.1840000000e-04</v></row>  <row><v>6.1300000000e-04</v></row>  <row><v>6.1435000000e-04</v></row> It just seems the rrdtool graph function is not rendering this sensor data with anything useful. I understand completely this is rrdtool not automatically choosing a very good scale for you, but is there any way to detect these low values and fix them up for the graphs by order of 1000 say? Subscription Graphs Issue/API

Well, my graphs do not work. Trying to figure out where I went wrong so I do not have to reinstall from scratch. Any assistance, is highly appreciated. Creating group with ifInOctets_perc

Hi, Seems that I can’t create a group that uses ifInOctets_perc for its entity match ? Is this because of a reason/bug or I am doing it stupidly ? My alert checker is working fine and I was able to create a group with ifOperStatus. They are both in the Mettrics category so I expected them to work the same way. Panasas support

Hi, I have a few Panasas devices that (not surprisingly) Observium doesn’t handle very well. It basically only get the uptime out of it. The devices are similar to this : http://www.panasas.com/products/activestor-16-18 I have attached debug discovery, poller and snmpwalk of the top tree and enterprise parts. I also have attached the mibs from the device (retrieved from the device itself) and a logo (retrieved from http://www.panasas.com/news/press-room ) It looks like there is very little in the standard places and every interesting thing has been shoved into the enterprise tree. Do you think it is possible to add support for these devices ? observium-rancid mail configuration

Hi All, I am very new to observium, I have successfully integrated rancid with Observium, taking backup ups. However, I am unable to receive the mail when backup was tacken. Filtering ports/devices

Does anybody know of a syntax that will allow multiple matches when filtering on device hostnames? I'm specifically on the all ports page. We've smashed two separate networks together and there are different naming conventions in use. When I want to look at only one side of the network, it would be easy if I could match all devices starting with p, s or m-. The hostname field doesn't seem to accept regex, nor does it accept "or" statements. Is there a solution to this? Cheers, Michael

Alerts based on RRD averages?

Hi all, I'm curious if it is possible to create an alert that considers an RRD average? For example, if I want to generate an alert that looks at the average utilization of a port over a 24 hour period, and if the average bit rate or percentage is greater than X, send an alert? I have been working with alerts that trigger based on a percentage, but if the port drops below that mark for even a short period of time (minutes, perhaps even an hour or two), the clock resets. That's proving troublesome. Any suggestions? Thanks, -- Stephen

HP mfp m527 and mfp m577 printers

Greetings, We've just purchased both of these printers. I've started monitoring them with Observium, but all I see under Inventory are the printer itself (hrDevicePrinter) and the printer's hard disk (hrDeviceDiskStorage). Have I missed doing something, or are these printers just not supported? This is by no means urgent. I've never tried to monitor a printer before and I just wanted to see what Observium told me about them.
