Monitoring mySQL

Hello! After trying out both the Python and the PHP snmp extenders in /scripts I still haven't managed to get mySQL monitoring working (while Apache monitoring works great). Though it works for some: http://www.observium.org/forum/index.php/topic,103.0.html I get the following error while using the PHP script: Applications: apache mysql...ERROR: /srv/observium/rrd/localhost/app-mysql-3.rrd: expected 79 data source readings (got 3) from N And I got a lot of zeros then some error if I use the Python one (I'm guessing it's because the /includes/poller/applications/mysql.inc.php expects name:value pairs) Any advice? My next cut at the port edit UI

Hi Adam & all, I wasn't really very happy with the previous version of my port edit screen. Latest cut is here: http://gear.dyndns.org/~paulgear/patches/observium-r2002-port-jquery.patch Screenshot of the old version is here: http://gear.dyndns.org/~paulgear/patches/port-edit-previous.png Screenshot of the new version is here: http://gear.dyndns.org/~paulgear/patches/port-edit-current.png The patch adds a few new buttons: * Reset: reset the form back to the way it was * Alerted: toggle all ports in red status (effectively setting all ports to the "recommended" settings) * Down: select ignore for all down ports (useful for quickly shutting up a noisy switch) I think these are useful functions, but i'm still not overly fond of the UI. The number of buttons makes it a bit ugly. However, i can't think of any better way to lay it out, and i definitely like having the functionality available. Any thoughts? Thanks, Paul P.S. I'd also suggest moving the uncompressed jquery.js aside and making the compressed version the default.

Feature request: Create aggregate graphs

Hi there, Is it possible to create custom aggregate graphs? For example, if I want to see the total traffic in/out for one specific customer connecting on two switch ports. Or all traffic on all my peering ports. Or all peering traffic to one peer on three different ports etc. Thanks, Olof

Cisco PIX

I have a couple of older PIX models, 506 and 501, that we poll at client sites. Observium doesn't appear to identify these and only appears to poll interface stats. I noticed the SMS code within alerts.php in a recent svn update. Any docs on this anywhere? Do the Alert triggers write to observium.log? r1942 ignore ports

r1942 release bring feature called ignore ports, but it looks like it doesn't work for me. When I selecting ports for ignore in settings and pressing save, it show this message "Device record unchanged. No update necessary." So what I'm doing wrong?

Voice interfaces discovery

I wondering if discovering analog voice interfaces is intended on Cisco platform or this is just bug? Currently discovery will add interfaces with media type - voiceOverIp, voiceFXO, voiceEncap, these interfaces doesn't provide any statistic over snmp, except UP/DOWN state. So I see no reason to draw graphs for them. Even better I'll be glad to get rid of them from regular IP ports, maybe move to different group, or just have option to ignore state/don't poll them?

I'm willing to provide deb package for Observium if anybody started work on that, please let me know. Also it is possible to make Observium run from sub-directory instead of virtual-host, like that http://example.com/observium? I did tried some rewrite rules on apache w/o luck.

Hi list, First of all, i want to say that I'm impressed by Observium, and I'm really excited to see how this project evolves in the future. I'm writing this mail because I'm considering writing an application monitor for varnish ( http://www.varnish-cache.org/ ) for inclusion in Observium, but I don't want to start if anyone is already doing that, so please stop me if I'm about to reinvent the wheel.
