Graph scale question

Using the latest CE.. All the graphs’ time scale seems to be off by a few hours. For example, a device’s port graph shows traffic for today at 2100 hours, and it’s only 1723 currently. I have verified the PHP instance Observium is using reports the correct TZ (America/New_York) and also the monitored device is in the correct TZ. Is there a UTC offset I need to adjust somewhere? APC PDU's, some change have made outlet status to show twice.

Hello Some fairly recent update and made my PDU’s a bit messy in obervium. I know have two statuses per outlet. See pictures of two different APC models. Minigraphs, names and labels. Some issues.

Hello I mentioned this in a thread about something else but think it drowned and got lost. lifting it out to a separate thread since I find these issues very frustrating. Not sure if I’m alone or not. 1. Can’t I rename graphs like we could in config.php? 2. Is there any way to move the label so that it doesn’t hide parts of the graph? 3. They mini graphs are a lot slower to refresh now, can this be tweaked? 4. I get the feeling that “show legend” on the larger graphs is semi-broken and is more or less always off here. Or is there some global setting that can have been changed when upgrading? It appears that the interfaces and everything else isn't working in Observium. Does anyone have any experience with this device? I'm happy to post an snmpwalk if it might help it get better support.

CDR Overage Alerts

Hi List, I know there has been a long-time request to enable the ability to generate an Alert when traffic (peak or 95%) goes over the CDR (as configured within [CDR] on the interface), and we would like to know if this has been realised yet? We just need a way of dynamically detecting and reporting when traffic goes over the configured CDR, using the port description’s [CDR] value. We cannot create Observium billing reports for every single customer facing port as we have thousands, and we are trying to keep manual processes to a minimum as this could easily be a generic alert of the form; ifInUcastPkts_rate > CDR OR ifOutUcastPkts_rate > CDR I believe historically there was some outstanding work to convert the discovered [CDR] field data into a normalised bps value in the database (as CDR can be given in units of Bits/Megabits/Gigabits etc). Can you switch from the subscription version of observium to the community version by following the Upgrade to latest Major release procedure? Community Edition¶ Upgrade to latest Major release¶ Disable observium cronjobs optional Run the following commands (as root): cd /opt mv observium observium_old wget -Oobservium-community-latest.tar.gz http://www.observium.org/observium-community-latest.tar.gz tar zxvf observium-community-latest.tar.gz mv /opt/observium_old/rrd observium/ mv /opt/observium_old/logs observium/ mv /opt/observium_old/config.php observium/ Update DB schema: /opt/observium/discovery.php -u If it has been a very long time since you've updated (12 months or more), you may want to force an immediate rediscovery of all devices to make sure things are up to date : /opt/observium/discovery.php -h all Re-enable observium cronjobs optional You may now delete your observium_old directory if everything has updated correctly: rm -rf observium_old

Manage Output Value of custom OID

Hello I'm happy to using Observium and its Custom OID. Eveything is working fine. My question is the presentation of the values to the web. Is it possible to manipulate just for the presentation the collecte values? For example wie collect the SNR (Signal to noise) from the CMTS, this value has 3 digits like 325 in the RRD. Now for the human I would like to change it to 32.5 in the grafic. Is it possible? If not, would it be a nice features? Regards Walter

Port label parsing - Mikrotik possible bug?

Hi I have picked up that the port cable parsing does not seem to work on Mikrotik routers, a port description of Core: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509 becomes CoreCore: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509 An SNMP walk gives be the below iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.1 = STRING: "Core: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509" iso.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.1.1 = STRING: "Core: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509" iso.3.6.1.2.1.55.1.5.1.2.1 = STRING: "Core: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509” If I run a poller on the device, the “Descr” under the sensors display shows the correct "Core: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509” but later on under the ifIndex listing the Label there is CoreCore: sfp-sfpplus1- Trunk to 6509 Regards

When trying to upgrade observium I'm prompted for a root pw

[juser@observium logs]$ sudo svn update [sudo] password for juser: Updating '.': Authentication realm: <http://svn.observium.org:80> Observium Professional Repository Password for 'root': Looking through our password vault I don't see a "root" user for observium upgrades. I do see another user ID labeled "Observium SVC" and the original system owner noted "used for upgrades". But as the only instruction for the upgrade is "svn update", it's not clear to me where this other username would come into play. Looking through the observium update doc I don't see any reference to being prompted for a root password nor an alternate svn user. Insight appreciated. Thanks, Michael
