An issue with zooming the front page map

Hello, We're currently running Observium v19.6.9959. Lately (I'm afraid I'm not sure when this started), when we double-click to zoom in on an area it only stays zoomed in for at most 10 to 15 seconds. It then bounces back out to its default. We're using Refresh time 5 minutes, Wikimedia map tiles, map height 500 pixels, Google API with our API key all set via the web interface. Is anyone else seeing this? Lost all graphs after server shut down

Hi, So what happened was the power to the Ob server failed in weekend and was stuck in bios prompt when I got to work. I brought it up. Later I noticed that all the graphs were empty. I checked and saw that the date/time was set to Feb 2019 not sure why. I then synced the time. The old graphs are gone. The new usage are being populated. How would I start fixing this? Display poe power

Hi All We use a few Netgear GS110TP switches with POE for WiFi points and VOIP Phones Is it possible to have observium display the outputs of the power being provided to each port? Serial Number searches not working properly

Hi list, Hope everyone is well 😊 We have been using the serial number search feature a lot recently as part of an audit / support contract renewals. And we have found that when a stack of switches exists, only the first serial number for the first stack member is searchable! When going to the device and selecting the ‘Inventory’ tab, we can see the serial numbers for all stack members. But the search query is not finding these ☹ After discovering this exclusion, we have tested some more and found that the issue also exists for line cards. I.e. only the chassis serial number is searchable, the line card serial numbers in the chassis are not returning the node. Again, the serial numbers for the line cards are being correctly displayed in the Inventory. So at a guess, it seems like the SQL query needs enhancing to include the referential child rows or tables for devices internal components (guessing stack slave members are treated like line cards). traffic alert to a tunnel interface?

Hello I have some GRE tunnels without physical interface speed and theye are always in UP state. So in this case i am not able to set an alert to notify me when "ifInOctets perc le 1" or if the interface status is down. Is there any options to set up a byte/sec alert ex: i would like to get an alert if the average traffic is lower than 100 byte/sec in the last 5 mins ? Thanks Laszlo

I want to include the metrics "Memory buffers", "Physical Memory", "Swap space" but i want to exclude "Virtual memory". Is there a way of doing so and if so, how? Hello, We're running v19.6.9959. How do I tell Observium to look up the SNMP Location again for all devices? We've recently purchased an API key for google geocoding, which I've installed via the GUI. However, when I look at a specfic device --> Properties --> Geolocation, the Last updated field looks ok (2019-07-03 07:26:42) which is a few minutes after I logged into the device. Last update status, though, says: Geocoding ENABLED, try detect device coordinates: by PARSING sysLocation (API: YAHOO) - NOT REQUESTED GEO API REQUEST: QUERY DATE: Wed, 19 Jun 2019 12:16:42 -0400 It *does* work on a few devices, however, showing that it's using the Google API. Where would be a good place to start debugging this (as in, see exactly what observium is sending along with the response)? Thanks Richard J. Hi All, Just wondering if there is any support roadblocks if we use RHEL for our Observium installs with an enterprise license? I'm talking about scaling, feature requests, dev support...ect. We recently purchased an enterprise license and our environment is currently Debian, but we possibly need to move to RHEL. Eltek Compact Shelf Discovery

I've got a number of Eltek compact shelves (-48 VDC) power systems that are failing to discover. I get a bunch of these in the discovery debug. STDERR[ Error in packet Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: NSCRTV-ROOT::commonDeviceVendorInfo.1 ] It's able to pull the Sys Description and uptime. Hi, Hardware: HPE J9780A Switch 2530-8-PoEP Did some digging, thanks to the very helpful new? tool https://mibs.observium.org/mib/HP-ICF-POE-MIB/#hpicfPoePethPsePortPower It appears the PoE Power warning is based on being over poe (not poe+) limits, not sure how it determines what the maximum allowed should be. how to skip SNMP check and only evaluate ICMP for some devices (HPE)?

Hi Observium version: r9964 (rolling) OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Is there a way to only evaluate the ICMP answers for certain devices (and skip SNMP)? I know that it can be done the other way round (there is a switch in the device props). We run a bunch of H3C/HP/HPE switches and there are no SNMP answers sometimes which lead to false-positives (i know about this issue already). UPS load

Hi All How simple is it to graph a UPS load in observium? We have bought a new UPS, and observium found all sorts from it straight away However it doesn’t appear to show a LOAD capacity? power sensor with 0W -> alert

Hi, since some weeks POE Groups (or other power supply unity) are marked as alarm if no output power is specified: observium-alert-zero-power.png. In this case this is not a problem, it just means that no POE-device is connected to the switch. How can I remove the alarms here? Cheers Helge

Hi All Ive only just noticed, but since I did a fresh install of observium on a new server and then migrated old data over, the memory for ‘localhost’ is showing as MINUS or NAN%? Anybody have an ideas? Ubiquiti EdgeOS - Port Descriptors

Hi all - I have a number of EdgeOS devices in the field that I would like to add in to Observium but I am having an issue with the port descriptors as follows: I have set the interface description as follows - "description CUST:JOHNSONS(AAPT_NWBL2)[50M]{1736079}" using the CUST: and various brackets as outlined in the documentation. The OS does not like spaces in the description field so I was forced to remove them to get the config to stick. Problem is that when the interface is parsed the description comes up as just description CUSTJOHNSONSAAPT_NWBL250M1736079 which clearly is not going to be parsed correctly by Observium. Wondering if anyone has come across this previously and can pint me in the direction of a solution/workaround. Cheers Mal

Alert for description port

Hello, I need a help with alerts: I have mikrotik, extreme, datacom, huawei, cisco ..., all registered by ip in observium and with their doors properly described in the equipment. The port down, device down, displays the ip of the device and the number of the port, in the cases of mikrotik it presents the description of the port, but in other cases it only displays the port number. When we receive an alert on the telegram for example, or even on the dashboard, we can not know what that port is until it clicks on it, could it send the description along with the alert in a way that works for all manufacturers? In mikrotik the association that I make is: port.ifAlias in others the association is: port.ifDescr One more question would be: In addition to sending the ip of the device, it would have to send the hostname of the device, this would be very useful also in the dashboard --

Hi, All methods to send notification by SMS needs internet. But if link to internet is down the messages never arrives on time. i was working on a solution "homemade", this implement a Arduino as web server and Gsm shield. Now observium can send SMS without externals. I have selected webhook as method but always it showme in debug Notifying [webhook] arduino: {"url":"http:\/\/A.B.C.D"} [FALSE] Arduino must send a response but i dont know what field send ... status, code ...? somebody have this data? -- Saluda cordialmente

Custom Icon $config['icon’][‘logo']

Good morning/afternoon/evening, Just a quick question. I have created a custom drop-down menu in the navbar, and would like to define a custom icon like; $config['icon’]['company-logo'] which provides a .png file in the images folder etc. Or more specifically instead of; $navbar['4D-DC'] = array('url' => '#', 'icon' => $config['icon']['company-logo'], 'title' => 'URLS'); Maybe this would work (sadly it doesn’t); $navbar['4D-DC'] = array('url' => '#', 'icon' => ‘images/company-logo.png’, 'title' => ''URLS''); I cannot find anywhere in the code where the $config['icon’] array is defined, and it is not in the database’s config table either? Needed Didactum MiBs in Observium

Hi, we used Didactum for Monitoring Temputure, Humitity and Smoke in our Racks and the Technik rooms. We use also Observium in our Institut and we want to monitor the Didactum also in Observium. From Didactum i have a MiB, but i cant include them. There are a lot of OIDs when i must include them, can you include them in the Observium MIBs list? I send the Didactum MIBs with this Mail. Hi, we’re using 19.5.9872 (7th May 2019), and are seeing an error in graph drawing: when we choose “Graph Trend” on any graph (that I’ve tried so far), I just get “Error Drawing Graph”.
