Howdy Mike/Adam, I opened a new ticket 2775 to add some additional device support (patches included), and discovered that an older ticket 2517 (patch included also) is still open too. Hi, What is the difference between ‘snmpbulkwalk’ and ‘snmpwalk’ ? I have an issue with a D-Link DGS-1100-24 and the ports of SNMP When I manually run the snmpbulkwalk that observium uses, it times out from getting the ifEntry details However if I run snmpwalk, it walks without any issues? Hi, The polling time for each device is becoming long when more and more devices added to Observium. From the poller debug output most of the time is spent on SQL update. For a network switch, each port will trigger a SQL update. Is it possible for Observium to poll all ports first, and then have a single SQL update statement covering all ports ? Any advice in enhancing the polling speed or database performance ? hello can you please support me with the following situation I have, I installed Obervium in a virtual machine with 8 Gb of RAM and 8 cores, which have an Intel Xeon processor E5-1620 v3 at 3.50 Ghz, hard drive of 200 GB, has installed a version of Ubuntu 16.04.5 with Observium version CE17.9.0 when it had 30 devices added works well in terms of graphics, but when we added more antennas in total 1085 at the time it has become slow and also the graphics shows incomplete of any element, cpu, memory, ports, etc, the devices aggregates are radios of ubiquiti and mikrotik, I attach the images where it shows the commented of the graphics graph a month from a port graph to 6 hours a port the same situation occurs with the graphics of memory, processor, memory or any ports of all devices Wilbert.

snmpget on multiple OID fails on Eaton UPS

We have around 22 Eaton UPS devices currently monitored on Observium and I have been investigating today why about 25% of them refuse to return a syslocation. It seems that the devices just don't reliably return snmpget when multiple OID are queried at once, at least for these objects. Specifically, when taking the following command from the poller debug and running it manually: /usr/bin/snmpget -t '4' -r '2' -v3 -l 'authPriv' -n '' -x 'DES' -X 'removed' -a 'MD5' -A 'removed' -u 'observium' -Pu -OQUs -m SNMPv2-MIB -M /opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp 'udp':'device':'161' sysUpTime.0 sysLocation.0 sysContact.0 sysName.0 The request times out even when increasing the timeout. However, being 2 years behind on updates I admit that I am having a little bit of an issue with the consequences of this. Hrm, on all my tested TP-Link switches this feature improved polling speed. That why separate_walk feature for this os enabled. But such problems are certainly unacceptable, I will disable that for os. Observium site blank after logging in

I've acquired an Observium implementation, which worked perfectly fine a few months ago. Nothing that I know of has changed over the past few months. Now we can get to the login screen as usual. As soon as you enter your credentials and login, the very next screen is completely blank and nothing appears. We've rebooted the box several times. Today I upgraded to the latest release - 9431. I'm not very proficient working through Linux troubleshooting, which is was the base OS is. Has anyone else seen this issue and possibly how to troubleshoot/resolve it? Hi, can someone help me to debug the graphing of "bng_active_sessions"? Which module is responsible etc pp? I noticed that Observium stopped graphing it for every Cisco ASR device for already 2 weeks. Based on our logfiles there was no update at that time. Devices not being discovered

Hi all, I've been running the CE version of Observium for a few years now, always upgrading as the new releases come out. Earlier this year my server hosting Observium updated to Ubuntu 18.04 and php7x. As previously raised on list, this was incompatible with the previous CE version. No problem, I waited it out. Now my issue. Since upgrading to the latest CE version, 5 out of my 7 devices (home network) are no longer being discovered. I can confirm DNS is working. I've debugged as much as I can, including reinstalling snmpd on the Ubuntu boxes. The devices which are staying down are my Ubuntu boxes and Unifi AP and Secure gateway. Any direction on debugging would be greatly appreciated. -- Regards, Roland

How do you configure Internet traffic Today

Hi, I am not sure if this is the right forum but I need some help with basic settings in Observium. I admit I have very little experience with Observium but a great deal with Solarwinds and The Dude (Mikrotik). On my main dashboard window I have a tab saying Internet Traffic Today. This monitors ports to the internet. However, we have replaced some border router and therefor I need to change which ports are being monitored and I can't seem to figure out where I change this? Can I do this in GUI? The subject of the correct voltage after the discovery, the value is correct, when pooler finish working the value disappears. As I noticed during the discovery, is viewed source in PowerNet-MIB in debug mode , the pooler process in debug is searched in SNMPv2-MIB !!! Is it some bug ? Details in the attachments. I am trying to find out how, or if it's not possible to request the ability to sort via the columns when viewing the group(s). For example in the attached to be able to sort alphanumerically the hostname column; device; or OS; etc. And to set a default 'sort' (say via hostname)? Is this possible? Thanks, Steve

Subgroups under Custom OIDs just like Devices -> Locations

Hello, Would it be very difficult to have subgroups under "Custom OIDs" menu so that I would navigate in web to Home -> Custom OIDs -> <Group of Custom OIDs> -> Custom OIDs ? I don't know if have explained correctly. I only would like to organize my Custom OIDs in groups in menu bar in the web, just like "Devices -> Locations" do, that there are one subgroup for each location. If it's a lot of work for an small improvement, forget about it. I currently group my Custom OIDs by name. HP Procurve - dot1q and OSFP

Hi, 1. dot1Q All interfaces whether they be untagged or tagged, are marked as dot1q in the UI I have attached a debug of a device from the modules "ports" and "vlan"(debug.txt). Also a show vlan <id>(showvlan.txt) to prove that they really are untagged ;) 1. OSPF A lot of devices with no OSPF configuration have a routing button with OSPF in the UI(see attached file OSPF.png). ifindex instead of ports

Polling times grew a lot upgrading to 18.8.9403 from 18.7.9337

Hello, This morning I upgraded our Observium Pro machines from prior version 18.7.9337 to last 18.8.9403 and, since then, polling times growed by almost 3 or 4 times: [cid:image003.jpg@01D43ED6.AFE37570] I upgraded using "svn update" in our polling machines and "discovery.php -u" to upgrade DB schema. I even tried to activate "$config['snmp']['max-rep'] = TRUE;" with no luck. What should I change to fix this times? I have been using observium for few months now. I wanted some info from the graphs that observium spins off. Let me give you an example, I sometimes get requests from folks asking, "Ok my memory utilization on a server ABC was 90% on this particular day. Observium Database

I wanted to look at some background scripts etc which gets the performance data like CPU, memory etc. For that I like to check the MYSQL database. Hi (...threw the to the list yesterday, but it didn't came through...) A few months ago I noticed the appearance of a "Default Dashboard" under Overview in the menu. There's also a nice "Add to Dashboard" button on graph-pages to add the graph to a dashboard. This seems like a fantastic feature but right now there only the "Default Dashboard". Is it possible add more dashboards? ...and if so, how? I also haven't seen any documentation of this very nice feature. Is there any? We're on 18.8.9355 Best regards, Tobias

This is huge.. NO, really very huge tables. Discovery can fetch this table more than 10-20-30 mins. Hardware showing as generic not openvz

Hi All Im trying to work out if im being stupid or something isnt right? Some machines we monitor are showing the hardware as 'OpenVZ Containers' but others are being found as 'Generic x86' I have installed the distro script on all the machines and im using the latest version 2.0 script Output from one of the machines which is an openvz container - Linux|4.4.0|amd64|Ubuntu|16.04||openvz Am I missing something? Static routes

Hi, what is your opinion about extracting also the static configured routes from the device? Possible SNMP OID would be .1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24.7 We have the case that multiple prefixes are staticly configured and that we are able to fetch them in the Observium database for 3rd party purposes that we built around. I know that pulling the routes from a device with a BGP full route takes a lot of time, but maybe it can be implemented into the discovery module instead of the poller. A way to ignore BGP or to exclude everything except static is not known so far.... From my side. Custom OID Metric Conditions (now with 100% more attachment)

Hi, The attached image shows some custom OIDs I have set up to monitor Juniper QFX VCP link status. These work fine and I see the custom graphs (gauges where state 1 = link up, state 0 = link down). The last bit I need to figure out is how to alert on them. I think I'm 90% of the way there. You can see the custom OIDs in the top browser window. In the bottom browser window, I'm unsure how to refer to the custom OIDs in the "conditions" bit. Any help gratefully accepted - I've got this far without bothering anyone but I've fallen at the last hurdle. Thanks!
