First time I've seen this. It showed up once today, and once on 24 Nov. I would expect an error like this to happen every time this ran or not at all. What is this? Executable '/opt/observium/poller-wrapper.py' doesn't belong to any package and ProcessUnpackaged is set to 'no'

Observium: sensor class question

Hi all, Question: Is there a way to map a sensor to another sensor class? Currently I have a sensor that shows up as a temperature sensor which in fact is a humidity sensor. atime necessary?

Being a BSD and Solaris guy (ZFS for years!), I brought up my new Observium installation putting mariadb on one ZFS mirror, and Observium on another. One thing that can improve performance is by disabling the atime attribute on a filesystem. Does Observium or mysql/mariadb care about this, or can I safely disable it on either or both filesystems? It won't impact the normal timestamps, just the tracking of the last access time of individual files. Thanks again.

You will also need to add and give permissions for a user on your new MySQL server. The installation instructions should explain how that's done since it is the same commands. Then update the config file for Observium to match your new setup. This is probably a basic skill you should know outside of using Observium. Updates to CentOS7 instructions?

I'm replacing a poorly performing VM running CentOS6 with a real computer running CentOS7. The two commands (listed below) early on in the CentOS7 instructions appear to be invalid. I'm not super Linux literate as I know more of the BSD and Solaris worlds. Are there replacement sources for these? Here are the ones currently failing (I've tried no more of the instructions). I suppose these could be only temporary failures: rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt rpm -Uvh http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el7.rf.… Any help is appreciated. Wireless Networks

Hi All, We recently started adding customer's wireless environments in our Observium installation. I'm not sure whether this was ever available, but I can tell that observium is discovering my SSID's since I can see them in the database, however, I don't seem to find any reference to them in the interface. Anyone has an idea how far this was ever implemented ? Our customer is using Ruckus. And it seems only the wifi_wlans table is being populated: Kind regards

suppress tiles on front page

Hi there, I created alerts for port errors and discards to be notified if there are more than 25. But on my front page I get a tile for each port with port errors, even if it is only 1 error. Is this customizable? I would like to be able to suppress this for ports where I know this happens but can't do anything about it (because someone else doesn't want to fix their device), or raise the threshold so something higher than 1? 2 x feature request : Avoiding multiple entries for same devices & subgroups

Hi! 1. Especially with autodiscovery I get the same devices created multiple times as the hostname differ and Observium don't seem to always properly identify that the sysName and SNMP ID is the same. What I end up with is either the same device being in there twice. I also have this issue on some solutions using clustering and internal DNS & DHCP so nodes can have multiple IPs and DNS names and change these over time so the only constant is SNMP sysName and SNMP ID. What I am doing now as a workaround is to disable all but one entry per device when I see these duplicates, but it would be great to either have a better check to avoid this from the very beginning, or potentially to have something like what is present for syslog host mapping to allow a N to 1 mapping of devices like : $config['device']['host_map']['foo.bar'] = 'bar.foo'; // device hostname/sysname $config['device']['host_map']['foo.bar'] = 'foo.foo'; // device hostname/sysname With something like this in config.php I could then delete the duplicate entries and they would not be auto discovered again, and I'd avoid having to disable them. 2. The other thing is that it would be great if it was possible to create subgroups for devices, ports and custom OIDs. When having lots of groups for different areas or lots of custom OIDs it quickly gets crowded and having the ability to organize these in a group hierachy would be great, similar to how locations are grouped by country when using geo-coding. /Jesper

I apoligize if this has already been a topic in the email archive, but I was unable to view the archive and I couldn't find anything online relating to this. bgp, ospf, eigrp are all show in the edit-->routing section of the webui. Not ISIS. Hello; I recently have installed the Community version of Observium on a CentOS 7 server, to test the functionalities and the configurations that gives; to decide if I it's worth to purchase for the Professional one. My question is about how can I select wich MIBs is going to use to obtain data. Because when I go to Devices -> Select Device -> Properties -> MIBs I find a list of MIBs that are used but not suitable for my device. How can I change it? Entering through the server's folders I have seen that are the MIBs that I need. How can I run it to get the appropiate data? Thanks!

Unable to sort rows by the last column for some data types

Hi, At the risk of embarrassing myself again and making you laugh, for an obvious typo.. ;) And yes I have definitely checked this time I discovered this weekend that it is not possible to view some of the "Heath" charts in a sorted order. For example, Heath -> Temperature -> Click "Value". The rows seem to be sorted randomly for us. Is anyone else seeing this too? The following also all have the same problem 1) Health -> Processor -> Click "Processor" to sort by processor name, results in random sorting 2) Health -> Memory -> Click "Memory" to sort by Memory name, results in random sorting 3) Health -> Memory -> Click "Used" to sort by Used, results in very random sorting 4) Health -> Temperature -> Click "Value" to sort by temp, results in very random sorting 5) Health -> Fanspeed -> Click "Value" to sort by temp, results in very random sorting 6) Health -> Power -> Click "Value", results in random sorting Cheers, Andy.

Power Supply Status Alarm Check

Hi there, I'm getting a bit confused while trying to create an alarm checker for power supply. So it's located under Status with physical class powersupply. Using the actual name would be worthless if this changes. What I want to check is the status of the status. Meaning running or not. I would go for status_type "powersupply" and status_event "running". If this is not true then give me an alarm. But I'm very unsure about the status_type and the correct one to check be cause an event could be "OK" or "FAIL" as well. The purpose is to track if any of the power supplys of our switches fails, so you can do an exchange before the whole switch goes offline. Hope anyone can help me with that. Hi Adam, The current integration was made, months ago, according to your old webhook content. And there are existing, in-use configurations in OpsGenie at the moment. We can't just throw them away and change that, can we? That's why we suggested the webhook content before. I don't care how crappy your payload was, we're just trying to make use of the two products together. Alright, cooling down, we can do a rewrite. We'll make a V2 integration which will make use of the fields you mentioned and deprecate our old one. Can you send an example of that request to http://4kmm916oxm9m.runscope.net ? I have upgraded one of them from FortiOS 5.2.x to 5.4.2 release, After this upgrade, observium don't show interfaces names or description. Minute storage changes causing storm of "Storage Size Change" messages

I am on 0.16.12.8277 and noticed that I am getting new alerts on the eventlog. Just this week alone, there are 82.8k items about storage changing. My volumes are generally zfs with many subvolumes, and as a result, all entries are coming up in the eventlog. This also wipes away any other important changes that might be overlooked. Memory alerting false positives

Hi, I have an alert on a linux server configured for "mempool_perc gt 90", which is firing all the time because of irrelevant caching use. Memory on Linux is always used. I'm more interested in the orange part of this graph: The device is called ucd_memory. Is there a metric I can use to get the value that's at 61% in this graph, to catch spikes like the one at 14:00 time? Thanks Maik

Is there a way to see which module is taking all the time when polling a device? I have Nexus 5000 switches with lots of ports, so I assume it the ports that take most of the time, but I would like to see what else takes a lot of time and if I can live without that information and disable the polling for it (like fdbcount). Active Directory LDAP Group Recursive Lookups

Hi all, We are having trouble with LDAP group recursive lookups in Active Directory. We are wondering how to configure Observium if in Active Directory we put another Active Directory group and if the group inside does not live under the current groupbase. Below is a example. I've set auth_ldap_recursive_maxdepth to 3. I tried adding the group and adjusting the groupbase together as well as individually without luck. Do we need to add that group to Observium? Is this sort of thing supported? Is there anything I can provide that may help? Problem with make graphs on ports

Good morning, I have problem with making graphs on ports. Observium recognize one of device as: ZXR10 ROS Version V4.6.02A ZXPON C300 Software, Version V2.6.02A.21 Copyright (c) 2000-2006 by ZTE Corporation Compiled Feb 4 2013, 03:49:41 It looks like most of ports do not gathering data: MAC addres is not showing up and traffic is displayed like 0bps. But real traffic exists on these ports. This instance of observium contains more devices. Problems exist on two devices with 72 ports. The other two devices have 48 and 24 ports, and generally traffic has draw properly on these devices. We suspect the key is too big number of ports on single device and observium doesn't "know" what is going on. We use observium community edition Observium CE 0.16.10.8128 (6th October 2016) I attach log from poller: ./poller.php -i 4 -n 1 -dd > /home/janix/poller.log in file. Hi all, We just upgrade Observium Pro version from 5565 to 8181 a few days. Everything seems to be working from we can tell, although since the upgrade we noticed this message in the db.log. It occurs for multiple devices. We are running Ubuntu 12.04.5. I'm wondering if it is because we are running PHP is 5.3? Has anyone seen this message after upgrading? Drive size changing every 5mins

Hi All Has anybody come across this issue at all? Every 5mins, the Observium is detecting that our volumes on our FreeNAS server have changed? Whats weird is it was working fine a few weeks until I had to reboot the NAS for updates Every since then its been like this? Where should I be looking to find out why this is happening? High CPU-load on pollerlog-page

Network Interface marked as "ignored" during discovery?

Hi, I'm trying to get one of my network interfaces to appear in Observium but for some strange reason it is being marked as "ignored"? In my config.php I haven't included any statements to ignore any devices and the poll time for this particular machine is only a few seconds considering that it's connection to the network is via wifi.
