But Others located at Chennai are showing green google map pointer icon without no. of server. I want to do change Chennai location sign ( same as Gurgaon location) ? Hi, we would like to filter alarms on our air conditioning units based on the status as many are redundant but the sensors are always on and if the unit is standby for example the temp or humidity limits can be easily raised, at his moment the sensors and status are different entities and the condition s can't be settled Any clue how to make this? Disabling polling on large number of ports

Hello list, I have just added a bunch of our end user access switches to Observium (thanks to the devs adding Nortel support!). Anyway, I don't want to be alerted or notified if those particular ports go up or down. The only way I know how to stop alerting on ports is to toggle the alerts field in the ports properties of the specific device. However, whenever I select all the ports on a device that has a large number of ports (over 300) all the ports show that they are toggled to off, then I click save. When the page refreshes I only see about two-thirds of them are toggled off, the rest of them are still set to poll or alert. When I manually toggle some ports and click save, the setting doesn't save. Any help or insight on this would be appreciated. AJ Schroeder

added a HP server over snmp

Hi all, I have just added a HP server. added SNMP and set it up. The server connected fine to observium. Now i see Observium has support for HP but the data im getting is pretty mandatory server stuff so im wondering what the HP support is added? or did i do it wrong? As an example i was hoping to get some RAID info on the RAID 1 running on the server with the controller that was shipped. But all i see is C:\ which won't alert me if a disk fail.

are page counts possible on a per user basis (in adressbook) of a Ricoh / Aficio MP c305 printer?

We got an Aficio MP C305 Printer where we want to get a monthly automated report of printed pages (bw/color) based on a per user basis (addressbook / print code) to make a print accounting possible. We still can count total numbers (also of all in one types like fax, copy, print and divided in colour/bw counts), but no counts on a per user basis. Does anybody knows whether it is generally possible to have per user counts (based on printer addressbook and user print code) and if so is there an oid? We do not need that functionality directly in observium… cause this is not monitoring but reporting, but it would be nice to get them via snmp automated monthly. New Install Alerts Rebuild not Matching

Guys, We've done a fresh install for a customer and created a sample offline rule however when we run the rebuild the output states it matched however under the alert checks the device count is still 0 We've just recreated the DB and all devices with the same outcome. geomapping stopped to work

Hello, geomapping stopped to work after (I think) a svn update. With the same overidden (working well) location configured in about 100 devices, the new devices are not mapped (message: not found) the geolocalization is enabled. I solved with the lat, lot values. Geolocation bugs

Hi Adam and everyone! I have two small bugs to report. I'm using Observium CE 0.15.6.6430, I'm closely following the mail list, but if the below mentioned glitches/bugs were between solved, then sorry for wasting your time. 1. I had this problem for longer, but now I found the way to formulate it properly. We have sysLocation strings alike this: Qualitis Iroda / Iroda - 1131 Budapest, Béke utca 116 [47.541773,19.085868] Now when I check the "Geolocation" tab in the "Device Settings" I see following in the "Last Update Status": Geocoding ENABLED, try detect device coordinates: by REVERSE query (API: MAPQUEST, LAT: 47.541773, LON: 19.085868) - FOUND GEO API REQUEST: http://open.mapquestapi.com/nominatim/v1/reverse.php?format=json&accept-lan… GEOLOCATION: Hungary (Country), Unknown (State), Budapesti kistérség (County), Budapest (City) GEO COORDINATES: 47.54163 (Latitude), 19.0859 (Longitude) The problem as I see, is that after using the coordinates given in the sysLocation string to make a reverse query to lookup the Country, State, County etc., the geocoding API returns some coordinates which corresponds to THEIR found geolocation. But the geocoding API sometimes can give really offset coordinates, especially for some bigger sites, where it gives back the entrance. So if there are coordinates specified in sysLocation, then they should be used to pinpoint the device, no matter what the geocoding API says. PS: the documentation also says: "But observium anyway will store in DB specified coordinates." But this is currently not true. 2. I stumbled upon this while trying to get the data out of the Last Update Status Field for previous bug. The fields in the "Geolocation" tab in the "Device Settings" are marked with attribute disabled="disabled", and if something should be made writable, then this attribute is removed. I would suggest using the readonly attribute, as that would enable focusing and selecting from the given field. Not to mention the pure logic would tell the same, those fields are unmodifiable, so readonly should be used. Regards, Attila

Missing memory history

I recently made some device changes and ran *discovery.php -h all* and *poller.php -h all*. Shortly after that I noticed that on one Windows 7 Pro box I'm monitoring, I no longer have any physical memory in the memory graph, just virtual memory. The entire history of it disappeared, and it hasn't started new or anything like that. I checked permissions on that workstation's rrd directory, and all looks good. I do have some backups of the rrd directories. Should I restore?

RANCID integration

Been hacking around with rancid for a bit and stuck on this step: Run this command to create the folder structure: su - rancid /var/lib/rancid/bin/rancid-cvs It is asking for a password, presumably for rancid, which we don't have. Support for EMC Isilon & NetApp cDOT

Hi! I saw on an old thread that it's a know fact that NetApp cDOT doesn't work well, apparently due to changes in the MIB from NetApp so they don't use the normal structure anymore. A case was opened with NetApp.....was there any traction on that so far ? Secondly, with Isilon it does pull a lot of info by default, but due to Isilon using something called SmartConnect which basically is a round-robin DNS, if you use the cluster name you get a new node every time which confuses Observium quite a lot. Is there a way to make it somehow consolidate or average the data from all nodes in a cluster so I don't have to create each node individually ? /Jesper

Match for Cisco routers but not switches?

I am looking to create an alert checker to send an alert when an Ethernet interface on a Cisco IOS router goes down- for example when the router is still up and available in monitoring, but a physical link is down due to a local switch failure, carrier CPE down, peer (unamanaged) router down... We receive syslogs of course, but these can occasionally get lost in the flood and not noticed as actionable by NOC staff. Is there an effective way to make a device match for Cisco routers, but not Cisco switches? The OS type both show up as "ios", and I haven't found something router-specific to successfully match on. I can do this individually by device name, but unfortunately our naming scheme isn't specific enough to match them all with *rt* or *wan or similar. As you can see below, I set the device match to "os equals ios" which includes switches that have a ton of link-down-but-enabled ports on them! Thank you, Andrew [image: Inline image 2]

Show client *rate* on wireless clients graph

I'm using Observium to track wireless clients on our Cisco wireless controller. It's very useful. However, when I look at the longer-term graphs (monthly, yearly etc.) it's less useful because I'm not sure what it's showing. Is it clients per day, per week or what? KEMP MIBs Attached

Observium works great for Netscaler, so we're hoping it can do the same for Kemp. And the result is all my devices are not in the same group, I cannot do something because the regional settings are automatically filled and managed by Observium, from the name of the town (as I set in the snmp parameters of my devices). Error Drawing Graph

Hi All, I'm seeing "error drawing graph" on several of our Cisco ASR's interfaces, so I'm hoping someone coupe point me in the right direction. I'm running Centos 6.6 with the latest rrdtool rrdtool-1.3.8-7.el6-x86_64 and CE version 0.15.6.6430. I've removed the specific graph rrd file then run the following two commands for debugging purposes. php ./discovery.php -d -h router.local.com php ./poller.php -d -h router.local.com. The file is 0 bytes for some reason. Oddly enough two of the three interfaces issues are with BDI interfaces. The weird part is there is one BDI interface on each box that is displaying correctly. Let me know if you any anything else to assist in troubleshooting. changing device link in alert email from http to https

Hi all, I will be accessing my observium from the outside. Therefore i have installed my wildcard cert and enabled https... my problem is when i recive the alert email from observium for some machine. in the email there is a link under device so that i can easily access the server and see what is wrong. my problem is per default the url starts with http and not https. and so the tunnel is not encrypted. How do i change this behaviour?

Tape Libraries in observium

Hi, has anyone ever tried to add tape libraries in observium? I have an HP MSL6030 and a Dell TL2000 here that i tried to add, but there is no support at all for them yet. I don't know where to start to even try to add some basic information about these devices so i have some reading and catching up to do. But if anyone already has some information, just throw it at me :)

Juniper stack polling - better but still hurting

Hello all, Moving forward with our POC, and almost everything is perfect...the one thing that's still nagging us is the long polling times for our Juniper switch stacks. Our newest QFX 5k 96s 2-member stacks are now down under 300 seconds after upping max-requests to 70 (~230 seconds now), but our older EX stacks are still taking longer than the polling interval (~330 seconds) to complete. I realize it's the length of time that the Junipers take to handle the snmpbulkwalk of IfEntry and IfEntryX, but has anyone come up with a workaround to date? Obviously stripping OIDs out of the standard MIBs is not a solution because it could break other devices, but is there a possibility I could create an "IfEntry-lite" version that would be exclusive to the EX platform? Or even a custom poller that uses JunoScript instead of snmp? I'm looking for any reasonable solution, even if it takes some work to implement. Thanks! The switch we can detect. The router seems to be reporting a bogus sysobjectid. Do the routers support adsl-mib? Adam. quick question: I have a linux box with the follow memorys cached memory memory buffers physical memory shared memory swap space virtual memory my question is this: how do i ONLY monitor physical memory? I suspect its an entity i need to set but i don't know how to find the name of it?

Hi I've noticed the alerts folder having new files that include services for messaging and sms Is it possible for you to add in TextLocal SMS API ? http://api.txtlocal.com/docs/sendsms We use them here in the UK and they are really cheap!
