Clean install - SQL Schema errors

I noticed that there are several errors running the schema creation on a clean/fresh install. Managed to run it without errors after a quick review and posted a patch at http://jira.observium.org/browse/OBSERVIUM-219 Some files even "errored" on the first line so maybe many changes never got to the database in production installations, any ideas about how to check schema "consistency"?. It requires SNMP contexts, which are a pain. We've been wary of using them because then can cause huge poller delays on devices which don't support them. Adam. We could use device attributes to disable it if it fails. But that might trigger if the device went down mid-poll :-\ Adam. ARP Table empty

Hi list, The "ARP Table" on all ports is empty (f.e. /device/device=95/tab=port/port=13844/view=arp/), I'm wondering why... Shouldn't there be listed all MAC addresses in the MAC address table ("show mac address-table")? Or is this really just the MAC<->IP table? If yes, are MAC addresses tables saved in the Observium database to see which MAC address is on which switchport? Looking at the "ARP Table" from all Ports (f.e. /device/device=95/tab=ports/view=arp/) there are MAC adresses which belongs to an IP address. All devices are Cisco Switches or Brocade Router. Integration with NFSEN

Hi, I’ve been evaluating observium for almost 6 months now and in general I’m really happy J. But I read in the manual that nfsen can be integrated with nfsen data, I’ve followed the manual but still nfsen data not shown in observium. Is there anything I missed? Thanks. Rgds, -dewo-

Hi all. I using observium on debian+nginx+php-fpm. Recently I noticed that I do not work schedule traffic realtime. Instead of traffic data says: cannot get data about interface 2 All other data in order. Please tell me what is wrong?

speed up the poller with poller-wrapper.py

Hi all, Are you not sleeping well because there are gaps in your graphs? Do you feel like your observium poller isn't putting enough effort into its sole task of polling every device and completing that task in less than 5 minutes? Fear not, a dirty script called "poller-wrapper.py" is here! I wrote a small wrapper that has a slightly more modern approach to getting things done. An issue with the multiple poller instances approach[1] is that when a single instance has to poll a few slow devices, that single instance cannot finish its work in time, while the instances that already finished their portion of the work will not 'help' the instance with the slow devices. This wrapper script will create a Queue with all the work that has to be done and launch a number of threads which will take work from the Queue until the queue is empty. This distributes the workload over the instances move evenly, thus improving performance and thus making it more likely to finish all the polling work within 5 minutes.
