Dear all, Revision 6001 cleans up a bunch of old code paths that should not have been used in recent days. If you are upgrading from a revision before r5000, it's probably best to upgrade to r6000 (svn up -r6000) first, run a full discovery and poll cycle, then upgrade to latest trunk. We've removed RRD renaming code for files which should since long have been renamed, and variables that should not exist anymore in your config. Variables to double check: $config['email_*'] should be renamed to $config['email'][*] instead. Tom

Groups

What is the intention of the groups feature? It seems like a really powerful way to group stuff together and have interesting views of things. But right now it just generates a list of entities that you can click through or hover over. I took a look at the code that generates all the various graph layouts (iftypes, health, ports). It seems that every page has its own code for handling the graph layout. It seem like this would be a great place to leverage a bunch of the existing code so you can create group specific views of sensors, ports etc... But it doesn't look like the code is structured that way (i.e reusable components/widgets). The standard views are good, but I want to be able to see them on a per datacenter/region basis rather than globally. The global view is visually interesting/pretty it is less useful.

Where are you disabling / ignoring the ports? Screenshot(s) would be helpful here. You can set each port to poll or alert (Yes/No) under the settings of the device the port is on. I¹m not sure if the Alert toggle is tied to the new alerts or a remnant of the old alerting system. RAID Alert Check

Hi Guys, I am looking to setup an alert check for LSI & Adaptec RAID arrays, however looking over the docs and I uncertain on how to properly configure it. Here is what I think I know: -Use the Observium agent to query the RAID controller and drive status -Create an alert check under “sensor” What I don’t know -The rest of the variables for the alert check Thanks guys! -Lane

Alerts can¹t be added up. They¹re attributed to whatever entity/device/metric combination you create, triggering on the individual values that match your rules. You could create rules to match both of your individual PDUs, or all PDUs, but you can¹t ask it to add/subtract the values of multiple rules or metrics to trigger an alert. Curious - what kind of scenario are you looking at that would warrant this kind of alarm? Is there a way to add PDU Amerage together so you get an alert based on the Amperage Usage of 2 PDUs together?
