We do not use any of the information returned by check_mk. We only use information returned by our own scripts. We don't generate graphs from any of the default check_mk output. We merely used it as a template to build the Observium agent. To build graphs from any of the data you get from the Solaris agent, you'd have to write code for it. Adam. It won't work on omnios, it is linux-only. We currently have almost zero support for solaris-derrived oses. Adam. IPV6 BGP Session Alerts
by Mahomed Hussein 22 May '13

22 May '13

Hi I’ve noticed that Observium has a very useful “BGP Alerts” section (among all its other useful sections :-) ) that shows all the BGP sessions/neighbours that are down etc. But it doesn’t seem to show IPv6 sessions. Is this because this isn’t currently supported or is there something that needs to be changed in the config? Thanks in advance. Hi All, Just a reminder that the Kickstarter project has 2 days left to go, in case any of you were leaving it until the last minute :) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/588464062/observium-alerting We can also use PayPal (which doesn't take the 5% fee that Kickstarter takes, either!) Thanks to everyone who has funded it so far! adam.

how to disable reading mac-address-table via snmp?
by norbi 21 May '13

21 May '13

hi List, how can i disable the reading of the entire mac-address-table from switches? problem is, we have about 4000 ports, 129 switches, and snmpbulkwalk needs about 22sec for one run, because the mac-address-table from uplinkports are to big. norbert

FDB Table
by Dario Calamai 21 May '13

21 May '13

Hi All! I have a new job in a new provider and Observium is up, again! :) my FDB Table is empty, still working in progress? I had a quick look to the code and I think that somethings in includes/polling/q-bridge-mib-fdb.inc.php have to be change for example dot1qTpFdbEntry is not working with my cisco 2960/3750, but dot1dTpFdbEntry does! [line 27] another example is that the function to search per-vlan mac-address is missing, now shows only the mac-addr in vlan1 [add "-c <community>@700" to snmpwalk command for vlan 700] Thanks, -- dario calamai http://www.linkedin.com/in/dariocalamai
