Using professional edition license for testing

Hello, I want to migrate Observium professional edition to a new server, my plan is to install everything and testing them on the new box before moving data(rrd, database etc.). I saw "The subscription license is valid for a single production installation and two testing or development installations." on the page so I want to make sure that how should I handle license operation. I only can see one user/pass for my subscription when I logged in. Can I use it on the new box to download another Observium professional edition and test my build before moving data while my production Observium is still operational? Best

Possibility to disable/enable syslog view for user

Hi, what would you think about adding another permission level to disable/enable the possibility to view the syslog entries of a device? We have the situation that some external users must have access to specific devices and graphs, but this also includes syslog entries... and we simply do not want to show them this log entries i.e. cli commands that have been executed. average trend line to the aggregate storage graphs

Hi, is it possible to add an average trend line to the aggregate storage graphs? Similar to what is on the standard usage Graph. We are looking for a way to do some simple and rough storage growth prediction for an number of volumes as an aggregate. If this is something we could do natively with Observium that would be great but if anyone has done something similar with the RRDs and can share that would also be good. Cisco ADSL port only shows one speed

Hello experts.... I have 2 Cisco routers with ADSL ports. Observium is showing the low (outbound) speed on these ports, however I am more interested in the higher (inbound) speed. When we have line problems, the outbound speed generally doesn't change much (maybe by a few kbps), but the inbound can drop from ~7mbps to under 1mbps. This drastic inbound speed change is what I'd like to monitor, graph and get alerts on... Is there a way to get the other speed to show instead (or in addition)? I can see the Cisco ADSL MIB listed, and enabled, but this is obviously not enough. I can't see any other obvious settings, and Google was not my friend on this one. TB

Graphs for Juniper SRX Showing incorrect speed spike

Hey All, I have a weird issue with some interface graphs for a SRX240H where it will show the speed spiking to 10+GB/s on a 1GB/s port and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. https://pasteboard.co/Hss2xMm.png Observium I think is polling the 32 bit OIDs, but the webUI says it is 64bit Polling with Cacti shows correct traffic on both 32 and 64 bit OIDs - https://pasteboard.co/Hss2agw.png I also see a similar issue with a SRX110H where the VDSL interface (which is hard capped to 12MB/s) is showing 50+MB/s which is not possible. https://pasteboard.co/Hss2kcf.png Not sure how else to debug this, I have a feeling that this might be an issue within Observium, but advice appreciated. 9304 issues

Hi, Overnight the update script brought us to 9304 and the schema up to 378. Immediately after, all of our devices when down and alerts went out. The problem was that the poller script SQL call was failing because it was looking for status = 1 and all of our boxes were in status = 0. poller couldn’t find the host even though the hostname matched hostname in devices. I did an “ update devices set status=1 where `disabled`=0; “ and poller started again but I’m sure something else it at play here. Joey

Alert-check "down device" doesn't report devices down

Hello I've something strange with a basic alert checker I've defined a basic alert-checker to check if my devices are down The test condition is device_status equals 0 I know it works because I already had some working case. I'm astonished because I have a case with devices shown as down : . but not reported by the alarm-checks The device is a Dell EqualLogic PS4210 Do you know what my mistake could be ? Moving Data to new build

How/Can you move data (graphs, device information etc) from one Observium build to another new build? I have been evaluating a Turnkey Linux CE build of Observium adding some devices etc. We like it and have purchased a license for the PE edition. I've been having little success moving the Virtualbox hosted version to ESXi 6.x for production. So I was thinking of installing a new build ontop of Debian 9. Can I move our Vbox hosted data over or do I just suck it up and start again? Thanks, Barry
