Hello all, First of all, i would like to tanks all people that made this great tool ! :) I'm still preparaing the migration from our old tool to Observium. So, i am playing/testing it with some Cisco devices. A strange thing that i observed is that the FDB tables show mac addresses on switch interfaces that are in trunk mode only (dot1Q flagged). Do i need to setup or declare something somewhere ? Thank in advance for your help. Tarik. MAC accounting problem

I have MAC accounting enabled on our BGP router trying to see what the usage is of our transit provider is over our peering link. They send me a graph for the week that looks like this. My graph on Observium looks like this. Any adjustments that I can make to fix this? Thanks in advance. P.S. Migrating to a new server

We just purchased an upgraded server in which to host Observium on and I would like to know the “best” way to migrate over all of our monitored devices. I’m not concerned with any of the graphed data being migrated, or any of the old Observium config. I only want to do a mass export of all of the devices and their properties. Will a dump of the ‘devices’ and ‘devices_locations’ tables suffice? Are there other tables/directories/configs I need to be concerned about? Hi, I can't say for Axis bit definitely success with Hikvision to a point. Observium does scan poll add the camera. If needing to be remote monitored from an external network over WAN there are many different ways of doing it. One way could be to use an ipsec vpn tunnel with gre then use a routing protocol like ospf . Then you could use acls as to what gets to the monitoring system etc... We have a client with 20 AXIS IP Cameras sitting on a private network who requires outside monitoring of there equipment. We have been reviewing and testing port forwarding etc however would appreciate any feedback or advice that anyone may have on a simple solution (If possible) to add all 20 cameras to our Observium servers. Down Ports - Device Reboots

When I first discovered and polled these particular switches (cisco and edgeswitch) the Ports that were down were not showing up on the device_status_boxes. Which is what I expected. But today the equipment at that site was power cycled when we switched over to generator backup while the electricians hooked up the new auto switch over equipment for the new permanent backup generator. Since then device_status_boxes shows all the down ports and that the devices rebooted. So they will not go away. Other software I used in the past had a mechanism to acknowledge them and they would go away. I can find no such mechanism here to clear these unused ports etc. It has almost eight hours and they are still there What am I doing wrong? -- Arthur Stephens Senior Network Administrator Ptera Inc.
