Syslog timestamps

When I look at a device's page, the syslog entries shown below are odd... Things that just happened will say "5h 20s". Hovering the mouse pointer over them shows the correct time on the entry. The Observium server and client I'm on both have the correct time. Are those time marks done using GMT? (I'm on Central DST, so that would make sense.) Can that be changed?

Help with Alert Check

snmp.conf change for r7728 and up on Debian/Ubuntu

Hi all, Due to a MIB move, if you svn up to the latest release, you might encounter silly output from the SNMP library in PHP. This is the case if you have the php5-snmp module installed, and have added our mib directory to /etc/snmp/snmp.conf. To fix this, replace: mibdirs /opt/observium/mibs by mibdirs /opt/observium/mibs:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp I've updated the install docs to reflect this. Tom

No Auth_Mechanisms defined to add user

All, So I followed the install process to a T, and it was going very well until I hit this: ./adduser.php <my username> <my Password> 10Observium CE 0.16.1.7533Add User ERROR: no valid auth_mechanism defined. I am running Debian 7 VM, and all dependencies are there. $config['auth_mechanism] = "mysql"; is in the config.php Anyone else run into this before?

Question Regarding CISCO and TX Discards

Hy Observium Community I have a router, which is only accessible via SNMP from my company, and it shows up some TX-Discards Just look on this picture: [cid:image001.png@01D1903E.84B547A0] Unfortunately the company who is administering the Router tells me that they do not see any error. I really do not have a clue which kind of Tx Discards these are and how they can be shown in CLI. Does anybody have a clue which “show” Command I have to tell the guy from the ISP that he is seeing these kinds of errors, also. It is a CISCO2911/K9 and it is a Gigabit Ethernet Interface. Monitoring job status

Hi, is there a way within Observium to monitor a file system to check that a new file appears at a given time, or alternatively to monitor a log for an entry to appear? The idea is, there are some scheduled tasks running on a Linux server. We can have each task do something on completion, like write a file somewhere, write to a log, post to a database, etc. We want to see if Observium can watch for something like that and alert if it doesn't occur. Method is completely undecided at this point so any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks, -- Mark
