Hi, We have the same "problem" when we restart the SNMP daemon ... it might be your case ? In fact, when the device actually reboot we have 3 mails : 1 down, 1 reboot and 1 up. But when the SNMP daemon restart / start we have only 1 mail : reboot. CDP neighbor map question

Hi all - question - I love the mapping feature for Cisco / CDP devices. Below is what the Map / Diagram looks like for one of the Cisco switches I have discovered...I only care about routers/switches/APs showing up there. Clear switch stats

HI all, I have two questions, 1) How can I clear switch port and billing stats once a new customer takes over a server ? 2) How can I assign ports as customers in the paid observium ? Customer ports are hp vc flex-10 ports so I don't think I can assign a per port description. Thanks Daniel

Hello. I would like to reduce the dotsize on the map to 1 but the config dosent seem to be going through. We have 155 devices in Observium at the moment and things can get a bit hard to look at. Especially when you get the big dots when you have a lot of devices grouped together. I googled the issue and I found an old mail discussion where it was said that it wasn't implemented yet. Is this still the case or am I missing something else? //Best regards Gustav

Nix Agent Installation Question

Hello All, I have a quick question about the Unix agent. I have an exim box and want to monitor the queue. This is a quick summary of what I did: I copied observium_agent_xinetd to exim server /etc/xinetd.d/observium_agent Copied obserium_agent to exim server /usr/bin/observium_agent On exim server mkdir /usr/lib/observium_agent/ mkdir /usr/lib/observium_agent/local/ Enabled unix-agent module service xinetd restart chmod +x /etc/xinetd.d/observium_agent and /usr/bin/observium_agent I was able to telnet successfully from the observium server. Output from poller.php shows the unix agent is running: # /opt/observium/poller.php -h eximbox Observium v0.13.10.4585 Poller Starting polling run: util2 10 linux (unix) Observium UNIX Agent: execution time: 209ms No include: No include:Observium No include:df No include:mounts No include:ps No include:mem No include:cpu No include:uptime No include:netif No include:lnx_if:sep(58) No include:tcp_conn_stats No include:md No include:diskstat No include:kernel No include:netctr No include:vbox_guest No include:ntp No include:cups_queues No include:postfix_mailq No include:local ... So I placed the exim-mailqueue.sh in /usr/bin/observium_agent/local/ and chmod +x and ran poller.php twice more, but I am not seeing a tab for apps after running the poller. Device status goes up and down (ping check) without having actual problems

Hi, Many of my devices goes Down/Up in Observium, while not having any actual problems. I monitor the same devices with Nagios (on the same server running Observium), so there's no connectivity problems between Observium and the monitored devices. Is this a general problem with the Ping monitoring or just something thats happens to me? And is there any way to disable ping and rely on snmp for up/down status of devices? We should do some adjustments to the site so this type of thing is clear immediately. Adam has been putting it off because he wants a different backend for the actual site, but I'll see if I can make some improvements tonight already.
