Need assistance adding an application...

Anyone familiar with adding an application? I think I have everything the documentation said to do in place, and I followed the example of a patch (asterix) that added an application, but I cannot get the web GUI to display the new app in the Apps tabs and dropdowns. I have an application that spits out data in the right place...I can telnet to the polling port and the output includes my new data with the proper <<< >>> header. So I'm thinking I may have to add a row to the applications table in the observium database? Is that a necessary step? The php looks like it needs an 'app_id' from somewhere. Thanks for any assistance.

Hello, how would I disable that module in the config file for only those Switches? It also doesn't seem to be grabbing the port names. All 600+ ports just say "Extreme Networks, Inc. 1000BASE-T RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Frontpanel Port"

Hi, We have several f5 load balancers added. But from observium ui, I saw they report traffic way lower than what f5’s own guy replies. The difference is quite huge. >From observium, each interface shows bandwidth usage like less than 1M bps. >From f5, it shows several hundreds of mega bps. Although from f5’s dashboard, it’s hard to understand, it doesn’t say which interface etc, it simply say out, in client side, server side etc. Also from observium, it reports each interface as 10Mbps. Do we know if F5 is broken? Thanks. —Zhenhui

Forced unsubscription

Hi Guys, If you get force unsubscribed to the list directly after this, it's because your mail server is rejecting emails with "naughty" words in them, so you're flooding other users with bounced messages. Please subscribe from an account which doesn't have draconian nanny email policies. (Because we all know it's impossible to change those policies, we don't even suggest you true, just use another account!) Thanks, adam.

Hello Adam, it appears to hang on the following for any of the Chassis Series switches. Problem with the Mail Alerting

Enterasys Chassis Switches polling\discovery problems

Hello all, I've been trying to find out some more information. I'm in the testing run of trying to migrate from Cacti to Observium. Enterasys standalone switches seem to poll data okay (other then memory and CPU) but the Chassis series like the S8 or N7's seem to be giving me a problem. The polling and discovery of these devices appear to hang. Looking at the polling\discovery history from the WebUI just shows 999.99s. Are there any tweaks I can do to get these devices to pull correctly? -Austin
