Dear all, I’d like to put a filter on “Recent Events” section of the dashboard, but I could not find any information regarding that. Now the section is too chatty, for example I see lots of these messages: Et140/1/48 Interface changed: [ifDuplex] '' -> ‘unknown’ or Et141/1/39 Interface changed: [ifDuplex] '' -> 'fullDuplex' But what I’d like to see is when an interface goes up and down, and hide not important messages if possible. Hi , I see ZHONE directory in /opt/observium/mibs/zhone. I added Zhone MKX to Observium but it seems that Observium did not recognize the OS type. How to specify the type of OS ? then Observium can use Zhone MIB to query data ? F5 / CPU Metric

Hi All, Receiving the follow error from a monitored F5 hardware appliance. The CPU usage reported is way out, anyone come across this or similar issue? See below. Cannot add a device

Hello! I have installed new instance of observium with the official instruction on Debian 7.8 x64 Observium version is CE 0.16.1.7533. Tried to add a device via web-interface, result is: Could not resolve 192.168.0.2 And I can not add any device at all. In console: root@observium:/opt/observium# ./add_device.php 192.168.0.2 test v2c Observium CE 0.16.1.7533 Add Device(s) Try to add 192.168.0.2: Could not resolve 192.168.0.2. add ssh option to device

SNMP MIB-Exclude

I want to exclude MIB for pCidrRouteTable && inetCidrRoute. Hi Ron Thanks for the reply however the - was meant to be the _ (was going by memory when i wrote yhe email) and went through those instructions a number of times. When I tried to execute ./bind locally all but blank... Telnetung the server on the port returns alot of data however I could not see anything bind related however not 100% on what it'd going to display. Based on what you described, “placing the Observium-agent and bind application in /usr/lib/Observium-agent/local” it would seem you didn’t follow the correct installation document, as “observium_agent” is to be installed in /usr/bin. You also don’t indicate whether you did the appropriate components with xinetd, that would similarly cause issues. Finally, inside the device properties on your observium server, you need to indicate the telnet port (36602) on the appropriate agent page, as well as enable the unix_agent function on the modules page. It’s really a much better idea to enable that only on a device-by-device basis as opposed to global enablement in the config.php file. Also, it’s worth changing directly to the /usr/lib/observium_agent/local directory and executing each script manually, this will determine if all the dependencies for each script are actually installed. For example, I use the ntpd monitoring script on my servers, and I don’t always have php installed on every server… so when I run the ./ntpd script, it kicks out an error that php isn’t installed. Duh, “apt-get php5-cli”, then I run the ntpd script again, and now I have valid data. I personally use nsd and unbound for authoritative and client lookups respectively instead of bind, so don’t have any experience with that bind script specifically.
