Sensor alert templates by device type
by Robbie Wright 28 Jan '14

28 Jan '14

Noticed some new sensor alerts that popped up by default a few revs back now. Super sweet, firstly, so nice work guys. Secondly, the defaults naturally aren't quite right, ie 0. Is it possible to set a default sensor type by device/platform/OS rather than individually? For example, system voltage on one of our routers has a default of 2 to 2.7v, while it is actually running at 23.5 and thus throwing alerts. Can we set all networking devices or iOS switches or iOS version 12.?? to have the same defaults? [BUG] I got a blank page
by BERTRAND Adrien [BPCE Assurances] 27 Jan '14

27 Jan '14

Hi all ! Since a little modification on the config.php (adding a filter in [bad_if]) I got a blank page on my enterprise http://observium and the "./discovery.php -h none" doesn't output any information ... (usually it outputs the version - in green) I got the same problem last week when I updated the svn folder with CRON that force me to revert to an older version of my server ... Of course I reboot all the services (apache2, mysql ...) and I have upgraded the memory limit in the php.ini (like mentioned in the Observium FAQ) ... Any clues ? Somebody got the same problem ? Thanks in advance. Hi all, I am having problems with generating graphs for my Observium install. What I have managed to find out is that that the system executes the following command: rrdtool graph /tmp/C9DwA903iBza9yzw.png --alt-autoscale-max --rigid -E --start 1390482368 --end 1390568768 --width 1159 --height 300 -c BACK#EEEEEE00 -c SHADEA#EEEEEE00 -c SHADEB#EEEEEE00 -c FONT#000000 -c CANVAS#FFFFFF00 -c GRID#a5a5a5 -c MGRID#FF9999 -c FRAME#5e5e5e -c ARROW#5e5e5e -R normal --font LEGEND:8:'DejaVuSansMono' --font AXIS:7:'DejaVuSansMono' --font-render-mode normal COMMENT:'Bits/s Cur Avg Max' COMMENT:'Total' COMMENT:'\n' CDEF:inB= CDEF:outB= CDEF:octets=inB,outB,+ CDEF:doutB=outB,-1,* CDEF:inbits=inB,8,* CDEF:outbits=outB,8,* CDEF:bits=inbits, outbits,+ CDEF:doutbits=doutB,8,* VDEF:95thin=inbits,95,PERCENT VDEF:95thout=outbits,95,PERCENT VDEF:d95thout=doutbits,5,PERCENT VDEF:totin=inB,TOTAL VDEF:avein=inbits,AVERAGE VDEF:totout=outB,TOTAL VDEF:aveout=outbits,AVERAGE VDEF:tot=octets,TOTAL COMMENT:' \n' HRULE:999999999999999#FFFFFF:'Total In ': GPRINT:inbits:LAST:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:inbits:AVERAGE:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:inbits:MAX:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:totin:%5.2lf%sB COMMENT:'\n' HRULE:999999999999990#FFFFFF:' Out': GPRINT:outbits:LAST:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:outbits:AVERAGE:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:outbits:MAX:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:totout:%5.2lf%sB COMMENT:'\n' HRULE:999999999999990#FFFFFF:' Agg': GPRINT:bits:LAST:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:bits:AVERAGE:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:bits:MAX:%5.2lf%s GPRINT:tot:%5.2lf%sB COMMENT:'\n' HRULE:0#999999 The error returned is: RRDTool Output: ERROR: String ends after the = sign on 'CDEF:inB=' I would imagine this is a config issue but I am not sure where to look. Attach the 'Email Contact' to the alert
by BERTRAND Adrien [BPCE Assurances] 24 Jan '14

24 Jan '14

Hi Observiumers ! Is it possible to specify the email contact for each "alert checker" without setting it on the sysContact of all the devices ? It's to send emails for different recipients that are related to the alerts and not the devices :-) PS: I'm running the latest version of Observium (susbscription edition) Sincerely, Adrien BERTRAND Administrateur Sécurité du Système d'Information Information security administrator BPCE Assurances 88 av. de France, 75013 Paris Tel : (+33)1.42.79.47.81 [Description : Q_BPCE_Assurances.jpg]

Custom Fields
by Christopher Murrell 24 Jan '14

24 Jan '14

Hello, We are very very interested in Observium to use as our Monitoring system, but we would like to have some custom fields on the device information. We would be willing to donate a nice amount to you guys as well if we can have this done as a custom feature for us. If you guys could do this please send me an email. Also do you have an ETA when the full alert system will be working? *Christopher* Murrell Hypernia Corporation *Email:* christopher(a)staff.hypernia.com *Desk: *(+44) (0) 1722 568687 <04401722658687> *Cell Phone:* (+44) (0) 7761636028 <0447761636028> [image: http://hypernia.com/images/signature/skype.png]chrisjmuk [image: http://hypernia.com/images/signature/home.jpg]www.hypernia.com [image: http://hypernia.com/images/signature/hypernia-superpod.jpg] *Confidentiality Note:* The information contained in this transmission is legally privileged and confidential, intended only for the use of the individual or entity named above.
