Question Regarding CISCO and TX Discards

Hy Observium Community I have a router, which is only accessible via SNMP from my company, and it shows up some TX-Discards Just look on this picture: [cid:image001.png@01D1903E.84B547A0] Unfortunately the company who is administering the Router tells me that they do not see any error. I really do not have a clue which kind of Tx Discards these are and how they can be shown in CLI. Does anybody have a clue which “show” Command I have to tell the guy from the ISP that he is seeing these kinds of errors, also. It is a CISCO2911/K9 and it is a Gigabit Ethernet Interface. Monitoring job status

Hi, is there a way within Observium to monitor a file system to check that a new file appears at a given time, or alternatively to monitor a log for an entry to appear? The idea is, there are some scheduled tasks running on a Linux server. We can have each task do something on completion, like write a file somewhere, write to a log, post to a database, etc. We want to see if Observium can watch for something like that and alert if it doesn't occur. Method is completely undecided at this point so any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks, -- Mark

Observium detected as spam

Hi All, not sure if this is an issue with our mailcleaners or observium emails ? but our mailcleaners are now picking up observium emails as spam ? Score Description 2.0 TO_NO_BRKTS_HTML_IMG 2.0 XPRIO 1.3 HTML: images with 2000-2400 bytes of words 0.0 HTML included in message 5.3 we have a score of 5 set, so sadly just passes it the emails where never being detected with these TO_NO_BRKTS_HTML_IMG ? or XPIRO ? in the past, only recently? has the been any changes in the email alerts code at all ? Alert Notifications when Alerting is Disabled

For devices I recently have added to my Observium installation, I receive interface / port ALERT and RECOVERY notifications emails even though I did disable Alerting under Properties > Ports, selecting no in the Alerts column. Version: 0.16.3.7653 Professional Any idea? Many thanks, Br Gabriel

To start off, I have read the FAQ and tried the points described there to fix this exact problem but it didn't help. I have one Proxmox host running a fe w LXC c o ntainers, Observium is installed on one of them and successfully gathered data from all of them for a few days then stopped and shows all of them as down. Cisco WS-C3850-48P

I have a pair of Cisco 3850 switches (stacked) that I'm using as a core for our relatively small office. I have added them to my Observium system and the normal Cisco L2 & L3 interfaces have been detected and are now in monitoring but the wireless features of the devices are not showing up. I would like to graph the number of active users for each WLAN. I see from Cisco's site (ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/cat3850/cat3850-supportlist.html) , that there are a few wireless-oriented MIBs that are supported, but I don't see them in the list of MIBs on my Observium server. SNMP Trap Import

Hi, I’m new to Observium (paid version) and am working toward replacing Zabbix completely with it. I see that there is some old/unsupported support for importing LinkUp/LinkDown traps from snmptt in snmptrap.php. I’m going to be testing it out in the next few days and making any required fixes to get it going with current versions. I have also though about implementing some type of mechanism to log/alert on various traps other than LinkUp/LinkDown such as ColdStart, etc. I am curious if there is any interest in that from other users and any input on how people would like to see it implemented and if anyone else is currently using it. Missing TenGigabit interfaces on Cisco WC-C4900M

Hi all First of all thank to the team of developer for making this program, and making it better and better everyday, love the look and ease of use. But I have run into a problem with a Tengigabit ethernet device I newly added into my Observium v. 0.12.8.3360. it seems that every thing get detected alright, except all the TenGigabitEthernet, interfaces dont show up anywhere in Observium, all other interfaces on that device gets detectet allright, and I can see the interfaces in the ports tab on the device, but not the TenGengigabit interfaces. btw: the device is a Cisco WS-C4900M Is that because Cisco WS-C4900M is not a supported device , or should I do some config changes to get TenGigabitEthernet to work ? if the WC-C4900M is not supported, how can I then contribute with information on the device , and help to then this device supported ? Hello everyone, first: the mailing list archive is somehow not online: http://postman.memetic.org/pipermail/observium/ So I couldn’t have look at the archive to see if my question was answered recently. I would like to add support for my PBX (Siemens HiPath 3000 series, model 3800) to Observium. There this a file containing MIBs available and someone also did preliminary support for Nagios: https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Hardware/Network-Gear/Siemens… So I had a look at this site: http://www.observium.org/docs/developing/add_os/ The file os.inc.php doesn’t exist, but a definitions.dat instead which is a binary file. So I wonder where to start i.e. getting some kind of device template I can start with? Thanks a lot, Jens

Alerts based on a sudden increase of packets per second

Hi all, Is there a way to generate an alert when an interface has a significant increase of packets per second, compared to a previous recorded amount? Is there a way to compare deltas? I'm looking to identify interfaces which may be experience a DoS situation. Thanks, -- Stephen
