Graph / No Auth issue

We've enabled SSL on our Observium server and now it seems like all of our port graphs are broken. They show "No Auth" and clicking on them takes you to the "you're not allowed to view this graph" page. We've disabled the SSL site and reset apache, cleared cookies and used different browsers. Created a new level10 user and nothing seems to work. CDP Neighbors broken?

I'm having an issue with Neighbors / Map missing entries on a Cisco device. It's a 3750E stack running 12.2.55SE9 and it has always worked properly before. I'm not sure when it stopped updating but I've updated to the latest SVN build and it doesn't help. Observium shows 12 entries, however if I do a show cdp neighbors from the switch itself I get ~3 times the items. Any idea on what's going on? Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to generate aggregate graphs. I've found the way to do that if I use "blabla:..." however I have already my description : "test test (blabla) test test". I did some work on the port_description_parser but non of them worked for me. How can I catch the "(blabla)" in there ? now I can see its configured as Notes. Alerts for OSPG/IGP Changes

Are there any plans to add an alert checker for OSPF/IGP Neighbor state changes? The BGP alerts checkers are great, however I'm looking for a similar thing for IGP. Alternatively, Does anyone know of a solution for alerting IGP neighbour state changes? I have 100-200 routers I would need to monitor. Thanks in advance, Ben

How to define graphs used in the Application page?

Hello Observium Overlords, I’ve gotten an Observium Client working for a new application that we’re running. For some reason, when I click on the Application Name under Apps, only three graphs per server are shown. Additionally, I have not figured out how to tell Observium which graphs I would like to display on this “Application Overview” page. Can someone guide me to the right place? All I’d like to do is select which 4 graphs to show up on my main Application Overview Page. I’m currently running Observium 0.14.11.5987, and am using the MYSQL, BIND, and NTP Observium scripts, in addition to our home grown script as well. Thanks for any assistance, Ricardo

The IPv6 addresses are wrong though: It *should* have logged two removals from 2a02:898:148::x/64 and two adds in 2001:9e0:803::x/64, but it logs one of the newly added addresses as removed twice. Ubiquity not detecting correct os or version

Hi All, I’m having an issue here with a few of our UniFi Access Points and Observium Observium detects most of our AP’s as UniFi but for seem reason two of them as being detected as AirOS ? I have no idea why it is doing this! They all have same Firmware and OS installed so why is it detecting it as AirOS instead of UniFi ? I have even compared snmpwalks and they are both identical (oversally data is different, but names, models, etc all the same!) Also ive noticed the correct ones for UniFi, aren’t detecting the firmware version correctly either ? its showing one point as 3.1.12 when infact I’m on 3.2.10 Any help where I should start looking or even ideas for me, would be very helpful Regards Simon

not getting alert email notifications?

Hi All, I have been using the alerts check for all our servers and broadbands fine for months! then outta the blue last week its suddenly stopped sending me emails? the last email i have shows 'Observium Professional 0.14.11.5993' at the bottom of its header and was on the 21st Nov? I can see in the Alert Logging messaging saying Alert Notification sent and Alert_Notify but i never get them? where would be the best place to check or has someone changed a line in the SVN by mistake ??? because i see a few changes related to alerts NOTE: we use a mailcleaner for spam etc… but ive already checked there and the emails don't even hit the server at the time it says it sent in observium? Auto Discovery without sysNames

Hi I've started you use Observium mand must say I'm very impressed :-). Very useful and comfortable tool I have question regarding the autodiscovery feature. I read the do here , http://www.observium.org/wiki/Device_Autodiscovery, and one of the condition is that sysName and device name must be same, or resolvable. In our scalable design all over the world it is very difficult, cause there are about 80 domains and strong of the domain itself takes about 20 characters, so we use only hostname resolvable via /etc/hosts. We also cannot use DNS, cause AD DNS is processed by the other department ( in Asia :-) , and it would take a weeks to synchronize it. So the question is, how can i workaround the auto discovery without same sysName and the hostname ? As far as get it, sysName only contains the domain extension of the hostname. we have about 300 routers/switches, so we want to discover them automatically. many thanks Pet

Alert checker for active "Used" memory? Alert for load average?

Hi all, I'm trying to set up some more proactive alerts for my hosts and either the mempool options for alerting are too generic or the docs are out of date. I want to have an alert checker triggered for active used memory, does that exist yet? I'm not talking about total used memory, which includes buffers and cache and is caught by mempool_perc for Physical Memory, but the active used memory (See "Used" memory in attached screencap). I can't find any way to make that happen and that would be much more useful than having an alert that includes buffers and cache in the tally. If I were to create an alert for mempool_perc >= 90% using "Physical Memory" then pretty much 100% of my hosts would alert because of buffers and cache being included. I'd also like to catch memory utilization issues before systems start to swap out, so I'd like to avoid having swap usage be the trigger. Is that possible currently or perhaps is it on the to-do list? :) Something else that would be great is to alert for load averages. I know someone else was asking about this a few months back and it wasn't possible at the time, so here's another vote to get it added. Sometimes we have processes get stuck in I/O wait and the only way to catch when this becomes a real problem is with a high load average since processes in this state don't drive up CPU. Currently running 0.15.2.6274. Thanks! -Hogan

I'm guessing he has no rDNS. I would probably make static entries based on their IP address and network segment. For example ap-ams-10-11-12-13.
