Hi All, i'm new at here i hope all doing well i have one way using observium to monitoring traceroute, ping, tcp 80 and any another ports ? i need to crate one monitoring for all my IPs, i need to see if have route problems, if have large latency from one to another location, if have null route and more any sugestion about that ? The Discovery Times table is formatted below the Total Performance table, instead of directly below the Module Performance table. Formatting is the same in IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Helo, Is there a way to see in a port aggregation which ports are involved on a HP 5830 switch on a HP 2920 the information is shown in the interface? See the example for a 5830 switch. Bridge-aggregation 103 is using 4 1Gbit ports. Cisco ASA 8.3 IPsec Graphing issues

Hi I have two ASA's I graph in observium , one running 8.2(5) and the other 8.3. The issue I have is that on 8.2(5) the IPsec tunnel graphs all work 100% and everything is picked up but when trying to query the 8.3 version I get no graphs for the ipsec tunnel graphs. Is there anything specific I need to do to get the 8.3 ipsec tunnel graphs working ? php time zone issue

Hi there, I'm having an issue with the time zone settings in PHP that are causing the dates and times to show up like in the screenshot below. [cid:image002.png@01D04603.E5407F80] After searching for a bit I found a thread that mentioned that the time zone needed to be set in the php.ini file (/etc/php5/cli/php.ini). I changed the setting and restarted apache but the date and time are still showing incorrectly in Observium. I even restarted the sever to no aval. Disk IO not graphing?

Hi, I've got an issue with Observium build: CE 0.14.11.6000 The Disk IO doesn't seem to be graphing any more?? Using snmpwalk I can get the mib for it: HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWRunParameters.95709 = STRING: "1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.13.15.1.1.5" It seems that none of my hosts have it working for a while; case for both FreeBSd and Linux. The rest of the graphs are fine and are updating properly! Running the discovery.php manually the output for diskio is: UCD Disk IO : .... Module [ ucd-diskio ] time: 0.0205s The poller shows the diskio is being polled but it seems no data is returned. Has anyone got any suggestions? Config files are same and haven't changed at all... unknown processor type

Hi All, Quick question, probably a simple answer to be far I run the discovery.php every 3 hours and all the time i see this in the Event Logs Processor updated: index (NUM), mob hr, descry Unknown Processor Type is the a way of disabling these messages? i currently use WMI to get the processors and os on a few of our windows machines to get the details and stuff, and these are the machines i get these messages with Regards Simon

Dear Mike, This is still not working for me. I have upgraded, polled, unchecked and rechecked the override box but still no joy. This is the line in the config that works perfectly for the snmp devices that correctly report HEX as their location. $config['location_map']['HEX'] = "Harbour Exchange Square, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, London, England, United Kingdom"; And this is a screen shot of the node as requested is below. As you can see the location of the device does not then reconcile to the full address following a rediscover. How to setup alerting for Checkpoint Firewall failover

Hi All I am new to this product and have been playing with trying to setup alerting. The Checkpoint MIB is able to pick up which firewall node is active and standby in an HA cluster and I was wondering if anyone know what the conditions need to be for the Alert Checker to monitor when this state changes ? Alert Checks - color coding

Hello, I was just wondering if someone could explain the grey field in the "entities" column on the Alert Checks page. Are these entities that match the alert check filters and simply aren't polled for whatever reason? Either there's a bug, or perhaps you disabled/ignored some ports in Observium? In that case, the poller won't send metrics to the alerter. Storage usage with RAID

Hi all, in my Observium the storage usage of an hardware or software RAID 5 (megaraid or mdadm) device is shown as for example -5277% free at hosts overview page. df -h shows the correct 16% used. Any ideas how to correct this? Regards, Cyrill

no messages in event log for 2 days

Hi All Ive had no Messages appear in my Event Logs panel for the past 2 days? where would be the best place to start checking if ive got a code problem or maybe an SVN update has goofed it up? Only reason I ask this is because we have had a few devices today go on and off alot and there are no entries in the Event Log Panel of them going off and on but yet ive been getting the email alerts? An interesting issue with Cisco 2960Cs...

Hi all, This is just on the order of a 'watch out' notice. We're currently on 0.15.1.6206, but had the same issue with earlier versions and with the CE. We have 5 Cisco 2960Cs that we monitor, and all were taking horrible amounts of time to poll. Always at least 200 seconds, and often over 300. After some experiment, we discovered that they apparently don't care to talk about CEF (Cisco Express Forwarding). If Observium asks them about it, the CPU usage climbs above 60% and stays there for quite a while. If I go to the device --> edit --> Modules and disable cicso-cef, everything is fine. The CPU drops under 5%, and the poll time is 5 seconds or less. I'm pretty sure we're not losing any useful info, since I don't believe the 2960Cs support CEF in the first place. As I said, this is just a heads up. Observium is a great tool. Per-user timezone settings

Been playing w/ observium CE 14.11.6000. We have people in several timezones, currently I have the observium system configured itself for UTC, but it would be better if there was a way to have each user account have their own 'local' timezone setting so that the graphs would show up in their local timezone. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks, Steve

Off topic rant: In case this wasn’t already obvious from this symptom, nobody should use Gmail for anything important. Some of our customers (one a google apps “partner” or whatever) have seen it silently drop mails including invoice mails etc (despite aligned SPF, DKIM, DMARC, reverse dns, and no current reputational issue). Even if anything is wrong with the message, they shouldn’t be silently dropping mail on the floor. It’s unbelievably broken as a model for handling “spam” which is what I presume they think they’re doing. It’s just about adequate for a personal searchable mailing list archive. That’s about it. Hi, I am currently using Observium on 149 switches with a total of 10173 ports. I can't say that anything is wrong with it, but the web interface seems a bit slow especially when you want to display pages with a lot of graphs. Observium is currently running in a VM with 4 xeon E5-2650 cores and 3Gb of ram. It's virtual disks are on a local raid5 composed of 10K SAS disks. Observium report that it's VM use on average 25% of its CPUs with spikes at 40% when the web interface is heavily used. The disk I/O doesn't go past 150 ops OUT and rare spikes at 50 IN. Anyone could advise on what kind of hardware or software tweaking could help speed up the thing ? Are they special requirements/tunnings for the rrd storage or the mysql database ? Not Receiving Alerts ??

Hi Observium Team! Since 14 Jan I'm not receiving Alerts It seems to be a problem of the mail server. I did the following test, and not receive it.
