Hi Since I updated to the latest SVN Version yesterday all summary graphs (Ports->Customers/Transit/Peering etc.) stopped working. Anyone else has this issue ? Spikes in 1 and 2 year graphs

Almost all of my 1 and 2 year graphs look like this. http://i.imgur.com/SnDlXz3.png I've tried several times to fix them with removespikes.pl and .php but never had any luck. Has anyone ever gotten the removespikes scripts to work in these cases? I run the command on a single device at a time and receive no output, but it doesn't fix the issue. I've also tried several of the other flags with no luck. Any pointers? Thanks! -GT

Device location not updated in database (already fixed?)

Hi Observium developers, I just found out that when i changed the snmp location of a device it is not changed in the database. We are currently using R5919 (yeah… i know. ;-)) Poller output with debugging shows the new location correctly. Adam, good afternoon! I have a question: what happens after the license expires. For example, buy a license, which is valid for one year. What happens after that first year? extending observium to handle custom MIBs

I have added a tree of MIBs (in the ‘experimental’ section of the tree) for my own application services to respond to snmp requests. This is for determining the health of a running service. I can view the objects using snmpwalk, and I can add the host running the agent to observium. I can see all the information retrieved from the ‘well-known’ MIBs (uptime, load, etc.) in observium for my extended agent, but I can’t see any of my own MIBs. Where do I look for how to let observium know about my MIBs so that it can show the data in a tabular or graphical format? I see the includes/polling/unix-agent/* as some examples, but it’s not clear to me where the mapping between my OIDs goes to the variables inside of running observium, so I can invoke rrdtool_create properly. It’s also not clear to me how I layout the various graphs on the page, once I have them created. If there is some documentation for that somewhere, or a particularly good example in the code to look at which would make it clear, that would be great. Thanks

Please include the following information : Contact/Company/Subscriber information What type of support you'd be willing to provide What type of hardware you use What you use the hardware for (WISP, Enterprise, etc) Additionally if you already use some other platform with your wireless kit, perhaps some screenshots and description of how you use the platform would be useful, as would any suggestions on how a wifi infrastructure management interface might be structured. We're not wireless infrastructure experts, but you guys might be! :) Depending upon the level of interest when everyone is accounted for, we might consider building specific wireless support into Observium. Full access live demo?

Hello guys I'm currently looking for a monitoring tool and try a lot of them (freeware, opensource, etc...) Observium sounds good for me, definitely. I checked the live demo and can't access to the threshold/alert options, which are the most interesting part for me. I know if you give access as a admin to your demo, your Observium demo will be destroy within 1 minute. So before paying for a pro version, is there a possibility to test a live demo as a admin user or install a "time limited full version" on my VM ? Regards, Aurélien

Control-Plane class-maps

Hi, Is there are way to get the CBQoS stats for the control-plane on the 6500 (or indeed any Cisco with control-plane policies really)? I know they are presented via SNMP as we have the stats in Cacti, showing against “CPP” which is the same name as Observium has for the Control Plane interface (after I un-filtered it in config.php). For what it’s worth, here is the table from the Cacti query: [cid:image002.jpg@01D0121F.7F26CDC0] In this example, you can see 4 of the CoPP classes, alongside one of the interface classes. We use Cacti to get the control-plane classes only (hence grey) and all the interface classes are done by Observium because it handles the dynamic changes which occur MUCH better than Cacti does. Observium sees the same interface index (19) and name (CPP): [cid:image004.png@01D0121F.497847D0] But for some reason it doesn’t attach the CBQoS statistics for the control-plane…? All other QoS stats are present, so in general it is working OK, just the CPP ones which are missing (or I can’t find them). Any ideas? Cheers! Unix Agent

I have read the Unix Agent troubleshooting section. The Observium-wide FAQ didn't provide any guidance either. I set this up within the past week. Running Community Edition, Debian Wheezy. I got one box (CentOS) setup with the Unix Agent and at least one polling worked as it's now populated with different packages, MySQL information (that's one of the scripts it setup). It hasn't worked since the first polling or two. It isn't pulling in any new scripts on the monitored box and the information it does have appears to be stale. I can telnet from the Observium box to the monitored box via FQDN on port 36602 and get a bunch of stuff back. However, the observium.log and my router shows requests going to the FQDN at ports 1 and 6556 that are refused. I don't show anything in netstat listening on those ports on the monitored box. Hi there, Does anyone have a Sonicwall NS2400 reporting CPU usage to Observium. The default settings didn't seem to pick it up. I tried adding the OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.8741.1.3.1.3.0) to the SNMP configuration in the Sonicwall, but still no sign of them in Observium. Where am I going wrong? Thanks, Paul NoSigPLS!

Adding a SNOM 320 VoIP Telefon failed

Hello, i tried to add a SNOM 320 VoIP Telephone. I saw that Observium has an include for snom devices. As a first test a bare snmp request from cli with v1 succeded, with v2 i got no response. But Observium does not discover the device with v1. DNS / host name service is working. I have read in the web that SNOM SNMP support is awful. They have their own mib, a request for "system" does not give an answer from cli. Does anybody have SNOM Devices monitored in Observium and if so, what could be the error that the device could not discovered and added? thx, ecaroh

Under Device Settings - Device properties - there is device type. I’d like to add router and switch there. Checked the mailing list archive. Nothing conclusive on how to do this. Does not look like something in a config file. Checked there as well. Is this used someplace other then he device menu subtree for grouping? Justin

Observium and Google downtime

We use the Google Map API, and it appeared that Google was unreachable here for several minutes. In that time, our Observium box ground to a halt due to all the PHP processes hanging on what I can only guess were map API calls. Once Google came back the machine became responsive again after all the processes finally cleared out.

Missing graphs?

Hello, Today I discovered that some statistics are missing. There are empty graphs since one week in all App tabs - apache, mysql, postgres, etc. There are also no graphs in tab Temperature.
