Hi, S4810 switches is not being detected as S4810 switches with the latest community edition - observium says: Dell Networking OS Operating System Version: 2.0 Application Software Version: 9.4(0.0P1) Series: S4810 Copyright (c) 1999-2014 by Dell Inc. All Rights Reserved. Build Time: Mon Apr 21 08:28:51 PDT 2014 Also it appears that the polling process is crashing the OSPF process on the S4810 switches, causing them to reboot, in case someone reads this before installing ;-) I’m opening a ticket with Dell on that one. Alerts for Device ping delay

Hi, Having recently purchased Observium Professional Edition, I have a question on Alerting for high delay to the device. I've configured an Alert Checker with parameters: - Tests: device_ping gt 40 (assuming RTT to the device not to exceed 40ms); - Device match: os equals ios - Entity match: <hostname> - Entity type: Device Actually, this checker applies not to the Device itself, but to the Ports of the Device, resulting in incorrect checks. I assume, that device_reboot checker will act in a similar way and won't trigger an alert. Can anyone provide a working config on this Alert type? ---- Best, Sergey Homyakov

MySQL App - Seconds Behind Master

Hello There, few days ago I implemented the MySQL App Feature on our Observium and it's working like a charm. It brings useful Information for MySQL Cluster Nodes. I'm just missing something, and that's: "Seconds Behind Master" Is there any particular Configuration that I have to implement to make it work or it's not just yet implemented? Hi, we like to monitor some of our ADSL routers and Switches these are TP-Link devices, but the observium only picks them up as generic devices!? Observium vs others

Hello, I am looking for a tool that can allow me to monitor customer's physical servers as well as my virtual servers (I have some, not too many Linux/CPanel servers and Windows VPS). This is a list of the tools I have been recommended along with Observium https://nodequery.com/ sar newrelic naemon nagios Icinga I think nagios and similars are too much for me, however I don´t know if Observium has all what I need, can you help me with that? Some of the features I need are: 1. Load/performance monitoring applications like Apache, MySQL, Exim (email) 2. Exim queque size (for preventing spam issues) 3. Generate user logins for my customers (so they can see graphics of their servers) 4. Access from mobile Do you think Observium could help me with this?

Auto refresh default setting

Hey guys, Subs version, I like to leave the default view page, as Network >> Bits so that I see ALL spikes fairly quickly, and can react if I see anything, however for the love of god, inc F5 / Hard refresh, I cannot get the screen to default to loading say the last 6 hours. Anyway of doing this, and let me provide the URL I am sitting at : http://my.observiumURL.com/devices/type=network/format=graphs/disabled=0/so… Now anything to make this simply autorefresh in the last 6 hours AUTOMATICALLY would be great - beer tokens available. The reason behind this is a 55" screen that sits on the wall, that at the moment doesn't do what it should do and will shortly be used for plastic gun target with suckers!!!! -- Kind regards, Chris

Dell Hardware Sensors

Very little information about this in the Wiki or configuration guide. I would like to get hardware sensors working in Observium for Dell servers, PE 2950, R310, R610, etc. I want to alert when any sensor is not OK. For example, hard drive failure, power supply failure, etc. >From what I think is possible. That information is available in SNMP on a physical Linux server if you setup SNMP SMUX Peer to the Dell OpenManage agent running on the server? Does Observium support it? However, it appears this is not possible on physical Windows? As well, as it look like that hardware SNMP nformation is not available either on ESXi 5+ because of lack of SNMP support integration with Dell OpenManage agent VIB. I'm on correct on this? Or can Observium get this hardware health from WS-MAN on ESXi, or IPMI to iDRAC hardware card? It would be awesome to see a Observium definitive hardware monitoring guide for Dell and then HP. Any information or help would be appreciated! Observium rocks! Oh, and the Alerting system in Pro is awesome! However, little bit of a learning curve. I created 9 alerts that I think should cover most issues. Such as high cpu, low memory, device down, device rebooted, network port at half duplex, network port down, high port utilization, etc. It would have been ideal if there was a Wiki page with all of those just laid out for examples. Edit bill ports display bug

Hey all, I've noticed a display issue on the Edit Bill view, specifically within the Bill Ports section - see attached. The ports display without issue when viewing the bill, but do not appear at all (except for the delete button) in the Edit view. Looks like this issue is present in r5478 and r5492. This isn't a huge deal by any means but if someone could take a look when they have a second, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! Regards, SG

Incorrect Port VLAN Information

I'm testing out Observium and I've noticed a problem with some of the VLAN assignments. Our shop runs HP Procurve switches and we've seen this problem on both the 2824 and the 5308xl. Hi, i have noticed when the Observium is sending alerts to me, our mailcleaner is blocking them, one reason is because the Message-ID is invalid or corrupted when it was sent !? for some reason seeing the Message-ID is being seen and sent as msgid=<cb0e6df8f4186cc23b4ba07c8bb65af4@> i got this information from my sendmail mail.log file and our mailcleaner logs too is this a bug in sendmail or the observium? regards Simon

Geocoding shows wrong locations

Hi there, I am running several VLAN in a distributed environment in Germany. I am using the longitude/latitude options to finally not ending up on "An island in the middle of the ocean". Yesterday I added another two VLANs and the map shows devices inside e.g. in India. As I am using private subnet ranges, only, I am wondering why this happens at all and could be done to get over of this little trouble. Subnets I am using are: 192.168.50.0/24 192.168.55.0/24 192.168.60.0/24 192.168.70.0/24 192.168.80.0/24 192.168.90.0/24 192.168.100.0/24 192.168.110.0/24 192.168.120.0/24 ...where the C-octet reflects the VLAN-ID. Observium Alert Setup

Hi, hopying someone can help me, bought the observium, and its brilliant, just what i was looking for and even the graphs and stuff however i can’t seem to get the alerts to work correctly!? i want to monitor a device (not a port) so when it goes offline or does a reboot it will send me an email or run a custom command of my own… is the any guide to help set this up for me? or even if someone could simply tell me how to set it up sorry for being thick, but it just abit confusing to setup a simple alert on a device thats all Regards Simon
