Error drawing Graph

Hello everyone, I'm having strange issue, and spend a lot of time troubleshooting this without any success. Getting error 'error drawing graph' only for some devices only - EX4200 switches, which are located in the remote datacenter. After I started seeing issue, I install another switch here in local datacenter and added it to observium and its working good. Could be the issue in latency - the delay is about 30ms? discovery and poller scripts run good, the only thing I noticed that for the devices that don't work I in rrd/<device_name>/ files port-###.rrd are missing. The CPU and Memory graphs are working good, only network graphs are having errors. Thanks, Roman.

This is most certainly related to network conditions or polling frequency. The poller must run every 5 minutes. Make sure you are running the latest version (svn update) Adam. I didn't know that the screenshot will not be able in the mail. So I have problems with all graphs on all devices. My graphs are OK but they have some hole. Some time 30min, some time more. Hi List. At present i have installed the latest versión of Observium and i am trying to configure an alert for a temperature sensor of a cisco catalyst and i do not how. On the other hand, i don´t have any alert in the home screen (right upper corner Alerts: 0), it is normal? i have rebooted some devices and disconnect some ports and the alerts still 0, but the emails with alerts are send correctly. Cisco asa5510 ipsec tunnels

Hi list!! Configuring my asa device I have encounter a problem with the tunnels ipsecs. When I view the active tunnels on the observium interface, I see not only the actives, I see other tunnels ipsec or remote vpns connections ipsec that is not active really. traffic from transit/peering ports is not being generated

Gentlemen, I'm having trouble generating the graphics Transit / Peering, I put the description of the interface as described in the wiki ( http://www.observium.org/wiki/Interface_Description_Parsing), but when I go to the Ports menu -> Transit and Peering he do not show any graph. Below is some information about the descriptions: xe-0/0/0.3664 up up NTT Provider (AS2914) [2Gbps] Would be the case of removing part of [2Gbps]? ZNID-GE-2424-NA-0GN- Zhone Indoor Network Interface Device; Release S2.5.073; We're looking at an 8 port zhone as well (better for triple play). I had 40 in that I need to monitor usage for but because of the SNMP issues affected by existing method of usage collection I have to take them out until I know i have a stable new setup for them with this. We have more but don't need to collect stats on all of them as that usually becomes somewhat cost prohibitive.

Code where this issue crops up appears to be 4711. 4710 looks like it works but 4711 seems to struggle through the poller process. I'm not sure that it isn't the discovery as I have gotten that exact and I'm still on a learning curve here. That said, 4710 is working right now on my zhones so I'm going keep testing on it.

Zhone's are being detected as "GENERIC" which is fine for as long as I get my port data. I started using Observium just last week and in the Open Source version and it gathered data fine all weekend for my Zhone switches. Changing over to the SVN and updating seems to be causing my zhones to stop responding to SNMP. Allied and Alcatel devices (which have the MIBS built in) work fine. Is there a specific SVN version that correlates to the Edition Split that I could try and go back too to see if that poller or discovery works better for these devices? Anybody else notice this? I've been looking for a couple hours and don't see much trouble with the poller like this lately.

Frontpage map and jump page.

Hi, After the update that changed the map, I not only what's in the picture, but when I click on the US marker, it takes me to colocation devices in Amsterdam, not to NYC. I have the paid version, consistently update. There must be something that I need to fix here. Any suggestions? Percentage ratio between two graphs ?

Hi Everyone, I'd be interested to know if there is a way to get some percentage ratio between two graphs. I was thinking of my transit and peering graphs for instance, but could be between two (or more) other graphs. Any ideas ? Maybe it's something already on the roadmap somewhere ? Juniper MX memory issue

Is anyone else using Observium on the Juniper MX80 platform? I know the MX960 is listed as supported but not the smaller one and we are seeing an odd memory issue that lines up perfectly with when we started polling it with Observium. Attached/linked image shows the last 12 months of memory usage on a MX5. Not sure if it is related to Observium or not so reaching out to see if other are seeing a similar slow memory climb or not. http://i.imgur.com/9PET5L3.png

pfSense SNMP daemon crashes after update to r4711

Hello guys, yesterday I updated my Observium (Centos 6.4) to the r4711 and I noticed that all my pfSense firewalls (5 hosts, two 2.0.3 and three 2.1) became down. On every host, the SNMP daemon was crashed. I tried to restart the daemon on every pfSense, but it crashed again and it seems to me that it crashes during the next cycle of polling (the discovery seems to go fine). Today I tried to update to the r4715 but I'm experiencing the same problem. Has anyone experienced something like that? How can I go deeper? Thanks for any hints, Kind Regards Stefano

'x' not working anymore in input fields

Hi I've noticed this afternoon that I'm no longer able to enter the character 'x' or 'X' in any input field. Pasting the character works but not normal keyboard input. All other characters seam to work as before. A work collogue has the same problem. So I think it's not the browser. The new behaviour seams to be on one of the changes since Thursday. I had a look at them and can't see and thing suspicious. I currently run svn version 4715. Any Idea where to look ... EX4200/4550 VC - Port Polling ~200 Seconds

Testing Observium, I've noticed that polling an EX4200/4550 with Observium takes about 200 seconds. There are around 300 ports, and I've noticed that Observium polls the logical interfaces as separate from the physical interfaces. I considered disabling logical interface polling, but the logical interfaces are used for a lot of port correlations, etc. Cacti with Spine takes 13 seconds to poll everything in our network, and Cacti with the PHP poller takes maybe 2 minutes to poll everything in our network. Because of Cacti's ability to handle this particular device (even with its PHP poller), I'm pretty convinced that the issue isn't the device. I've checked interface, memory, and CPU utilization on the Observium server as well as the device and the network in-between. Everything is fine. I've also turned Cacti off to ensure there was no strange clash. I also turned polling off for all ports that were in a "down" state and disabled those ports in the switch as well. It almost seems that Observium's poller walks one OID at a time in serial, or otherwise does some ridiculously complex discovery on every poll that it doesn't need to do. Cacti does bulk requests, so it gets around 50 OIDs per request to the switch stack. Is it possible that I'm missing something in the Observium configuration? Thanks! --Tyler

RRD, Graphs and Draw Errors

Hi, I recently updated to the subscription model of observium and did a clean install, but did use my old config.php file. I have several pages where the graphs show draw errors. I have tried setting the permissions on the RRD to apache:apache as indicated in the instructions, which did not seem to change the behavior. I then switched it to root:root, which also does not seem to change the behavior. I reviewed the information on RRD and Graph issues from the mailing list archives, unfortunately the couple of items I found to try did not seem to change the issue either. I did remove the ?> tag and the remaining white space at the end of the config.php file. I have attached a screen shot of the current permissions for the RRD directory and a screen of from one of the pieces of equipment showing the draw error. Some graphs appear to draw but do not contain data such as the CPU graphs. I am not sure how to proceed to further isolate what may be wrong. I have verified the path to the RRD directory and Executable on the system and checked that they were good in the config.php file. Thank you, Tim

Greetings Is there a way we can create "aggregated" (or "stacked") mini-/micrographs for the frontpage? using this syntax $config['frontpage']['minigraphs']['ids'] = "19418,port_bits,Dist76-01.AMS4;19496,port_bits,NAME"; or this: $config['frontpage']['micrographs']['RING']['ids'] = "19414,port_bits,NAME;19492,port_bits,NAME2;19439,port_bits,NAME3"; results in several graphs next to each other. what we are after is in "mini" or "micro" what we can do it using "custom" traffic graphs - but they are too big for what we are trying to do... $config['frontpage']['custom_traffic']['ids'] = "19418,19496"; <-- this actually stacks the data into one graph thanks for any pointers!
