SNMP - IPSEC VPN under VRF

Hi, I am wondering if you can help. We have several Cisco 4331 routers which has IPSEC VPNs running inside a VRF, for some reason Observium is not able produce SNMP IPSEC tunnels within the VRF. Is there something I am missing? Mikrotik Custom OID issue

Hello All, I’ve run into a device specific issue with Mikrotik and am looking for some advice. I want to track a few MIB-defined variables like mtxrWlRtabStrength (signal strength, source https://mibs.observium.org/mib/MIKROTIK-MIB) and produce graphs. I added a custom OID for this but the snmpget command is failing. In theory, if I want to get data on OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.3 I should be able to get it, but unfortunately snmpget in the poller errors out. It appears that for Mikrotik we need to attach the rest of the, and this is the problem, device-specific address to the OID. e.g. 1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.3 (and .0,.1) does not work but .1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.3.100.209.84.175.14.243.1 does. It will only get the data from that one device, not from any others. The easy way for me test this is to run the poller command: snmpget -t '10' -v1 -c xxx -Pud -OUQnv 'udp':'radio-leehill.nv0n.qth':'161’ 1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.3 Anyway, I’m wondering if there is a way in observium that I haven’t discovered yet that will get me graphs on various wireless activities from the registration table. The use case is to monitor things like signal strength and signal to noise to know when a wireless link is below a threshold. High winds up here tend to bend and destroy dishes even with a stiff-arm attached. Thanks, Joey ps. Hi Mike I have changed to rolling as requested and updated and now showing version 20.9.10731 (22nd September 2020) hopefully this is what you are expecting? Web interface blank screen after last Update

Hi, We have updated our Observium platform to the latest version CE 19.8 and we are facing the following issue. After finishing the upgrade using the instructions on the website we were able to access the web interface just once. When we logged in the first time after the upgrade we received a message that the php version also must be updated. After that we were unable to logon to the web interface (after login we see a blank screen) and we receive the following error in the apache error log: [Wed Sep 16 12:33:07 2020] [error] [client PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function password_hash() in /opt/observium/html/includes/authentication/mysql.inc.php on line 101, Is it possible to backup the configuration and update php version and use Observium installation again? If yes is there any guide how to perform the update? We have observium installed on a Debian 7 machine. Hi Guys, We've just released a new CE, version 20.9. The release covers 790 commits since the last release, and a very large number of changes! The new release can be installed using the upgrade instructions in our documentation: https://docs.observium.org/updating/#upgrade-to-latest-major-release Please make sure you meet these absolute minimum requirements beforehand: MySQL 5.6.5 / MariaDB 10.0 PHP 5.6.26 Though we would recommend a PHP version above 7.1 and rrdtool versions above 1.7. CheckPoint concurrent connections

IOS XR device not recognized

Hi all, I would like to ask for a hint or information I'm missing in oder to successfully monitor Cisco ASR9K (ASR9901-RP) running Cisco IOS XR Software, Version 7.0.1. I'm getting "Generic device" not Cisco device and for unknown reason I'm getting this LOG messages SNMP works just fine, as other graphs or values are being collected successfully. There is no error in observium.log and polling graphs looks good too. On top of that, every full discovery cycle (every 12 hours) we are getting full set of alarms from this device. Any idea please? Inventorying Merakis

Hi We have a bunch of Merakis in Observium, and we got the nice graphs and stuff. Then somebody asked for serial numbers for inventory purposes, and ... they're not there. I did an SNMP walk on a single Meraki device, and that's really sparse, explaining the lack of info in Observium. Then I added the Meraki dashboard (available at snmp.meraki.com), and let Observium have a look at that. It basically told me that it resides in San Francisco. Doing an SNMP walk on that does reveal all the necessary info, though, so it is there. Any plans on parsing the Meraki dashboard into Observium and get info on devices that way? If not, we can pull the serials from elsewhere, but it would be cool to know if it's coming. bogus VLANs reported on switch

We have a Cisco C2960S running 12.2(55)SE3 that Observium insists has a whole bunch of VLANs that don’t actually exist on the switch. Every bogus VID strictly follows a valid VID, i.e. 5 is valid, 6 is not. 9 is valid, 10 is not. 90 is valid, 91 is not. And so on. Anyone else run into this? Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Google Maps on dashboard

Hi Finally figured out how to make locations work properly by paying for the Google geocoding API. The map on the dashboard is provided by OpenSteetMap. Any way to make that map provided by Google instead, so we can get the satellite view? SNMP Timeouts

Hello, A couple of weeks ago some of our switches starting not responding to SNMP and are showing down now but I can ping them from the server that I have Observium on. Recently the server storage got filled up but I expanded the disk and has plenty of space now, but I still get timeouts even if I run the SNMPwalk from the Obserivum server. I reinstalled the snmp and snmpd packages on the server (ubuntu 20.04). Some switches are using v2c and those are working while the ones that aren't working are using v3. Wasn't sure if maybe I needed to reinstall some other packages or see what else I could do to fix this. Thank you

Milton, I disagree, for example, how do you set up a rule to apply to all devices (past and future)? It appears you cannot, however, you could in the past and that are what all the examples show. I like observium quite a lot, however, its these things (like documentation that is not current) that can really frustrate a user. There is a problem with these examples, they don’t work for modern Observium. Now that observium uses test conditions and “association rulesets”, the documentation is broke and you cannot implement these examples the way they are shown. It would be REALLY helpful to have updated documentation. I am stull struggling with checkers because it is all trial and error. Seperate Juniper Flow Sessions from Max
