Hello, I've created the Alert Checker with "sensor_class equals power" But i don't see any info about Nexus devices transceiver information. But for example - IOS XR devices shows transceiver information. Is it a problem wih NX-OS snmp stack ? Thanks.

Device names in Eventlog and Syslog Alerts.

Hi, I noticed that some (longer) device names aren't showing complete in the eventlog and syslog alerts. Can i fix this some how? Also, is there a possibility to add colors (red,green) to the syslog alerts? Some screen shots. Aggregate vs individual port graph maximum value & 95th % on bits graph

I have two graph questions that I haven't been able to get an answer on via IRC, so I thought this might be easier since I can include more information up front: 1st Question: A 2-port aggregate graph (agg_bits.png) shows a maximum value based on :AVERAGE while individual port graphs (port1_bits.png, port2_bits.png) for the ports that make up the aggregate show a maximum value based on :MAX. Is this intentional? If not, would it be possible to remove or toggle graphing average vs. maximum data on individual port graphs? I think both data points are useful, but in general when providing graphs the 5-minute average the only data we'd want to show them. More data below. 2nd Question: The "bits_old" graph includes 95th % both graphed and in the legend. Would it be possible to get the same for the other bits graphs, or at minimum, just bits? I did some digging and didn't find a means to use options via graphs.php to generate it myself. Ciena SAOS thresholds using incorrect OIDs

We recently added some Ciena 3942s and 3904s to our monitoring, and found that Observium (CE 17.9.8859) is picking up the wrong OID for some sensors. It seems that the same OID was reused for a couple of checks where they should have been the next in sequence, causing optics Tx power and voltage to not be properly checked. Alerts for an APC UPS

Grouping both ends of Core P2P links into single Graph

Hi, We are evaluating Observium at the moment, and we have many point-to-point links in our WAN as everyone should ;) Each end of the same p2p link is labeled to be identical; interface Te1/1/1 description CORE:DeviceA=DeviceB This results in two graphs in Observium. One for DeviceA (labelled "CORE:DeviceA=DeviceB") and one for DeviceB (labelled "CORE:DeviceA=DeviceB"). However as they are connected back-to-back to each other they show the exact same information (just "in" and "out" reversed obviously). Is it possible to merge these two ports/graphs into a single logical Core link? This would significantly save on screen real estate (halving the Core page at the least) and make tracing paths through the network much more logical. Similar to how the Customer graphs aggregate multiple ports with the same description together. But I guess throwing away one side of the link maybe? Details for each end could still be seen on the specific device's page to view locally significant things like port errors etc Thanks, Andy.

Hi all - I've noticed that some of my devices display an option to connect directly via SSH etc. as per attached screenshot but unfortunately not all devices provide this option. I presume this is device dependent since it appears that my Cisco & Mikrotik devices display this option but not Huawei or my Brocade switches Is this an Observium config or device based? Huawei Sub-interfaces - no traffic captured

Hi all - I've recently migrated a number of services to new Huawei kit and successfully discovered the device and all sub-interfaces etc. My problem is that Observium is not showing any traffic against any of the sub-interfaces. I can see the aggregated traffic fine but not at the sub interface level. I don't have the same problem on my older Cisco h/w Would appreciate any feedback on how to troubleshoot. Mal

Hi, I have a one question regarding migration devices in Observium from SNMPv2 to SNMPv3. I have in the Observium in this moment around 300 devices and want to use SNMPv3 instead of current SNMPv2c. How to trigger of checkpoint FW state in observium?

We're running observium pro stable release 17.10.8930 and are monitoring several checkpoint firewalls with it. I'm trying to figure out how to generate an alert when the firewalls fail over or when a state change occurs. I see that it's being polled as it's displayed for the device header. as you can see attached. This comes from checkpoint from the 1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.5.6.0 OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2620.1.5.6.0 = STRING: "active" But I don't see any method to select that as an entity type? Anyone have any pointers?

unable to display openvpn graphs

Hi all i have recently added my openvpn server to observium server for openvpn application monitoring. i have installed {{ xinetd and copied the openvpn script to }}/usr/lib/observium_agent/local/openvpn path. I have opened the openvpn server management port by adding 1st line as "management 10.100.115.220 49000 /etc/openvpn/pass.txt and then restarted openvpn and xinetd. When i checked using netstat on openvpn server the server is listening on tcp port 49000.{{}} i can access the management console of openvpn when i run the following command from my observium server "telnet 10.100.115.220 49000" followed by a password. But i cannot see the graphs of load and users connected in the Web GUI. I have checked RRD folder also of the device there is no rrd file named openvpn.rrd or so. The unix agent is already added to observium server and when i do "telnet 10.100.115.220 36602 | grep openvpn" then i get the following output : (nobody,223056,32312,0.2) /usr/sbin/openvpn --config vpn-routing.conf --daemon vpn-routing (nobody,195680,15056,2.3) /usr/sbin/openvpn --daemon --writepid /var/run/openvpn/vpn-bridge.pid --cd /etc/openvpn/ --config vpn-bridge.conf But i cannot see the graphs in web gui someone please help. ASR-9000 PSU Status / Alarms

Hi all, Just noticed a strange problem with reporting alarms on the ASR9001 (XR5.3.4). A lab router was reloaded and when it came back up there is a "Major" chassis alarm as one of the two PSUs has failed. However, neither the PSU failure nor the 'MAJ' alarm status are detected by Observium. Even after a full discovery and polling, it is all green and happy on Observium it seems.
