old 3rd-party script, need help

I’m attempting to use a ~4yr-old script that uses data Observium stores in the MySQL database, but the Observium schema has changed since then. First, the script attempts to use the “links” table, which is now called “neighbors” – this is an easy fix. Secondly, it uses the “ports-state” table, which was removed last may in updates/341.sql, with the matching SVN comments of “Remove bgpPeers-state and bgpPeers_cbgp-state” which doesn’t mean much to me. Is the functionality of the “ports-state” table gone, and I should remove the corresponding functionality from this other script, or has it been refactored into something else, in which case I’ll need to refactor my script just as much? Syslog notifications

Hi All Im not sure if this is me being thick or simply how its designed I have devices sending observium syslogs and all is good… I have setup an some syslog rules and they work fine as I can see the alerts in the syslog alerts I have then assigned the syslog rules to the contacts, but strangely enough im only getting the syslog alerts every 5 minutes when the poller is run Is this designed this way or have I mis configured something somewhere ? Its also annoying because I can get 4 notifications at a 5 min interval, 1 to say port down, 1 port up, 1 port down, 1 port up, etc… I would like them to be instant notifications when observium receives the syslog Regards Simon - Hestor

Hi, i have configure syslog-ng and its receiving the logs and also hostname/ip is match with devices list but it does not show in syslog page, whats wrong? thanks

multiple authentication mechanisms at the same time for observium?

I'm running the current stable release. A question came up today about authentication, basically is it possible to have accounts authenticated via mysql AND have other accounts authenticated via radius? i.e. I want to have some local/mysql accounts on the system but have the general major population authenticated via radius. Was thinking something of a lookup process to check to see if a user is local first and if they don't exist then continue down to the next authentication mechanism. Steve

Old Overview

Hello, I just updated to the new version. Im missing the old overview. Dashboard cannot be configured like it should (I cannot adjust the map size). Anyone else have this problem? $config['frontpage']['order'] no longer taken into account ?

Hello, Since my recent update to the latest stable version (19.1.9661) I've noticed the variable $config['frontpage']['order'] defined into /opt/observium/includes/defaults.inc.php is no longer taken into account. Actually it displays what I had defined before but my new changes there are not taken into account. Did I miss something ? Best Regards Thibault

Blank Dashboards

Hi. Has anyone else experienced the same issue where after the Observium upgrade (9657) the new dashboard is showing empty transit and peering traffic graphs? Before the upgrade they were showing the traffic data fine, but on the new dashboard based front page, the graphs are empty? I’ve cleared browser cache etc and waited for a while. I have also tried adding a new graph, which involves browsing to the aggregate transit graph and click add to widget etc. But that only creates a mini graph (which does show). The nice front page graphs for Transit, Peering, and Transit and Peering are just white :( [image1.jpeg] The Gap the graph below was from the upgrade maintenance as I also upgraded the distribution with apt upgrade etc. Everything else seems ok Thanks, Andy.
