Hi Team, I am seeing some issues when I go to php version 8.1 on the server running Observium. It displays `/opt/observium/html/idex.php` in raw format. Everything works fine if I go back to php 7.4. Is php 8.1 not supported yet on observium? Regards Renuka Arya

MySQL IO Wait

Hey list We keep adding devices to Observium, and it seems we're getting close to some tipping point for MySQL performance. Looking at output from "top" we frequently see high iowait: [cid:image001.png@01D89790.EF319B00] Looking at iotop, it seems that MySQL is the aggressor here: [cid:image002.png@01D89790.EF319B00] We figured syslog was the culprit at first, and tried disabling that for a while to see if stuff died down. It did not. Been playing a little with mytop, and even though we have a QPS around 780, it's not possible for me to nail down what queries are hogging the IO on the server. I googled around and did some changes to the InnoDB, and though I saw improvements, they were not as massive as I had hoped. This is what I currently have changed from defaults: [mysqld] # This is a little too much for the installed 8G in the machine and will be adjusted at a later time. Just trying stuff out now. innodb_buffer_pool_size=6G # We have fast SSD drives on vSAN innodb_io_capacity=1000 # Don't flush file write so often, be more relaxed. innodb-flush-method=O_DIRECT_NO_FSYNC So I'm kind of stumped here. It's not killing Observium totally just yet, but we have experienced some outages this week and will probably see more as we keep adding devices. Any recommendations will be much appreciated. Alert checker failing

Hi list Why does this fail: [cid:image001.png@01D8A68F.E52D3930] I tried with both "online" and "onLine", but saw no difference. I tried deleting and recreating the check to make sure nothing was stuck somewhere. It went straight to failed on the first poll. I'm trying to monitor a bunch of UPS devices. They are from diffent vendors, and some reports "normal", other reports "onLine". The ones reporting "normal" works fine, but the ones reporting "onLine" all fails. Mailing list migration

Hi Guys, We've migrated the list to a new setup running Mailman 3. It all seems to work ok, and I've important the historical archives which are now available at https://lists.observium.org/hyperkitty/list/observium@lists.observium.org/ It will likely be necessary to use the password recovery process for the Mailman account in order to access the archives and control the settings of your subscription. It might have migrated existing passwords from the old system, but who knows, Mailman 2 was ancient! This doubles as a test post! :D Thanks, adam.

Observium Community Edition 20.9.10731

Hi Everyone, Need some advice. I'm running Observium Observium Community Edition 20.9.10731 on Debian 8.4 and I want to move this to a new server. I tried to update to the latest community edition but when I ran discovery it could not find any modules so I backed out of the upgrade. Can I build a new server, install the latest community then move the database over or do I need to install same versions of Observium on both servers ? I am new to Observium community, as i recently installed observium community version on EC2 instance and i want to originate the Alerts if there is an outage on Cisco ASA IPSEC VPNS so how do i configure the alerts if you can help me with all the settings in the Alert checker.It will be really helpful as i found it very hard to configure alerts Checker IPSEC SITE TO SITE VPN Alert Checker configuration required on GUI ? IPv6 total graphs

Hello, I'm using the Port description Parsing to aggregate graphs in the section "Transit" and "Core". It's very useful so I can know the total traffic that is forwarded on my network. On all devices I have also the IPv6 graphs inside the device interface. Question1) I would like to see the total traffic differentiated by ipv4/ipv6 on the same way of tab "Transit/Core". I want to know the total traffic IPv6 that is forwarded globally or by transits. Question 2) The graph "Device total traffic in bits/sec." report the total traffic I immagine. Is is possible to have that total traffic of the device differentiated by ipv4/ipv6? Thanks Matteo

I'm not sure if this is the correct manner, but I'm looking for some kind of support. We are using Observium with ops genie, and around March of this year our Alerts are way less than normal. We'd get 10-25 a day, no almost nothing. I have 0 background in any database knowledge, and can really only fumble my way through Linux commands.

FDB devices 3Com

Hi, in our work we have yet many devices 3Com 4210, 3com 4210 Poe and 3com 4500. On this devices we can't get FDB table, can't search a MAC Address on fastly to know where is a PC connected. how i can solve this? -- Saluda cordialmente
